Andrew smiled to himself as he picked up her response from her empty seat. As embarrassing as it was her notes were beginning to be the highlight of his day.
With a nod to his roommate Dylan who was coming into the lecture hall for his next class, Andrew slung his bag over his shoulder and pushed out of the room. The snow outside had turned into a sludgy mush and the temperature was dropping steadily. With a glance at his watch to check how long he had before his next class Andrew made his way towards the library.
Subconsciously he knew that he hoped to see her again even if he wouldn't admit it to himself.
So he stood in the line for coffee and looked around the main floor of the library watching the interactions of his fellow students and fiddling with the piece of paper in his hand. Checking to count how many people were in front of him he opened the folded paper with a deep breath.
The paper was covered in a scene similar to a night sky; she'd even gone as far to color in most of the page. Cartoon clouds dotted the drawn sky and start seemed to shoot across the page as he took it all in. She'd even drawn a balloon similar to her mystery tattoo. The tail of it writing out "I pretend the night is so beautiful". Written in a small cloud in the corner she had responded. Nerves seemed to jump as he read the handwriting that was becoming his favorite.
I'm a sophomore. What about you?

Andrew looked up with a smile, noticing he was next in line and moved a few steps forward. He heard a laugh from the tables and turned to find her sitting with another girl. Mason's smile was contagious and his smile from grew at the sight of her.
Tearing his eyes from her he pulled out his wallet and smiled at the barista. "Can I get a large house coffee with room for Andrew? And is there anyway that I could also get a chai latte, but could I write something on the cup before you make it and can it be made in about five minutes or after I've left? It's for the girl in the black pullover over there."
When the barista gave him an odd look but nodded he thanked her in relief. Taking the cup she offered him and the extra sharpie he moved to the side of the line.
Writing her name at the top of the cup he started his message down the side. Normally he'd add his favorite lyrics of the song but his spur of the moment writing took that away and he just drew her a small picture instead.
Finishing just as his coffee was done he handed back the cup and the sharpie and thanked the barista again putting a tip into her jar.
He added creamer to his coffee as he watched her try to inconspicuously read what he had written and she turned to him with a smile. He nodded and with a final glance at Mason left the warmth of the library to trudge his way to his next class.

So this was definitely one of my favorite chapters to write, I really enjoy Andrew and how he thinks. Even the tone of the song was perfect for how I envisioned this going.
I would absolutely love that if you're enjoying Yours Truly that you'd vote or even comment with a song suggestion of something that you're loving right now. I'm planning about 20-30 more chapters and need as many songs as I can get.
As Always,
