Friday January 30th
Andrew tapped his foot impatiently as he waited in line to order their drinks.
She had agreed to meet him.
How would she react when she realized the guy sitting next to her all semester was actually the guy writing her notes?
Would she want to still talk to him?
Would she even show up?
What if she didn't?
Andrew had to force these thoughts out of his mind as he stepped forward; one more person in line before him and then it was his turn.
It took all that he could to not watch the door every time it opened.
Finally, after four people had entered the coffee shop that wasn't her it was his turn to order. "Can I get a large house coffee with room and a venti soy chai latte."
The barista nodded and wrote down his drink orders on the cups he paid and then stepped back.
She said she would be there and he had to trust her.
The barista had started making their drinks when he finally saw her walk in. Her hair up, showing off her tattoo, denim shirt, leggings, boots. Andrew couldn't decide if it was because he was actually introducing himself or what but she looked even better than normal. He had to stop himself from walking right up to her.
She picked a table in the corner and he smiled as he watched her intentionally pick the seat where she could watch the door. It was hard not to just stare at her. The way she pushed her bangs away from her face, or how her hands danced along the table like she was playing an invisible piano that only she could hear the music to. She was breathtaking.
When the barista finally called out their drinks Andrew had to focus on stilling his shaking hands and remind himself to breathe. She was here and she wanted to meet him. She was really here.
As he walked over to where she was sitting he continued to watch her. She didn't look up until he had set her drink on the table in front of her.
She smiled at him and he returned it happily. "Hi."
"Hi."
