Fireflies || Jeongchan

chapter 5

today was minho and jisung's aniversary therefore they weren't at school. they were out doing god knows what. jeongin didn't forget to ring them in the morning just to greet them.

today, jeongin was feeling pretty confident. he decided to wear a skirt to school for the first time.

he looked at himself in the mirror and smiled. he really loved wearing his skirts. jeongin proceeded downstairs where he greeted his aunt and uncle. "oh my, you look gorgeous darling" his aunt said, his uncle nodding in agreement. this made the boy smile brightly, this made him realize how lucky he is to have such accepting guardians.

jeongin arrived at school, getting a lot of stares like usual. a lot of them were because he looked absolutely stunning in his outfit.

"innie-ah! you're so pretty!!" hyun said as he pulled the other in a suffocating hug ( he didn't mean to ). the other just giggled a 'thank you'. to his surprise, chan didn't bother him at all...until lunch time.

jeongin and hyunjin were sitting at their usual table, eating and talking happily, when chan along with changbin right behind him, approached them.

"what do you want chan?" jeongin was not having it, he looked to beautiful to get mad today, he thought to himself.

"i see you and your little boyfriend are having fun huh." chan looked around, making sure everyone in the cafeteria was looking at them.

"what we are does not concern you, but me and jeongin are just friends" hyunjin said, holding back the urge of going off on this man.

"yeah whatever. how does your parents even let you wear something so slutty? are they slutty too? is that where you get your slutty-ness from huh?" chan said as he crossed his arms, with a mischievous smile on his face. "i bet" changbin said, making both him and chan laugh.

hyunjin immediately looked at jeongin with worry. jeongin felt a pang in his heart with the mention of his parents. he's had enough.

"insult me all you want chan! but never, and i mean NEVER insult my dead parents" and jeongin ran out the cafeteria with tears in his eyes, "fucking asshole" hyunjin glared at the two boys before following the younger.

everyone in the cafeteria had their eyes on chan, who was now frozen in his spot. they made snarky comments and looked at him in disgust. how could he say something like that? the truth is, chan didn't know that jeongin's parents were dead. i guess this incident taught him a harsh lesson.

hyunjin paced through the hallways, desperately looking for the boy. he looked all over the school but he was no where to be found. he stumbled across the sad jeongin, heading out for the school gate. he slowly and quietly started following him.

jeongin still had tears streaming down his cheeks. he eventually made his way to the cemetery. once he reached his parents' tomb, he started balling his eyes out and that's when hyunjin came to the rescue to comfort the boy.

he pulled jeongin into a warm embrace, just what he needed. "it's so unfair!!! why would he say such a thing!! my parents don't deserve this jin" he sobbed into hyunjins chest, while the latter was rubbing circles on his back.

"he's an asshole jeongin, ignore him, he'll get what he deserves" hyunjin said, still rubbing circles on the sniffling boy's back.

meanwhile with chan :

"bro what the fuck was that? why did you bring his parents into this?" changbin said pulling the latter into an empty hallway.

"i didn't know they were dead i swear" chan put his arms up in defense. he truly did feel guilty for what he said. he didn't even know why he hated the boy in the first place.

"you better fix this shit man, my dad cannot find out about this"

chan stood there with an idea in mind. he was hesitant but said "i'll apologize". changbin's eyes widened when he heard what the other had said. never was 'chan' and 'apologize' in the same sentence, so changbin was truly surprised.
