chapter 14

"can i...have one last kiss?"

"w-what"

"after this, i'll let you go, for real. i'll leave you alone. i'll let you be with jeongin!"

chan looked at her hesitantly. if this means i'll get to love jeongin freely, he thought to himself. so he grabbed her face and pulled her into a quick kiss.

a sudden noise suddenly made him turn around, to see a teary jeongin staring at them. absolutely crushed. before he could even approach the boy, jeongin ran the opposite direction.

"jeongin wait!" he shouted and started running after the boy. hyunjin didn't see what happened, but he wasn't oblivious when he saw his bestfriend react like that.

"you jerk!" he grabbed on to chan's hand before he could run any farther. he was badly resisting the urge to punch the hell out of the guy. instead, he told him off.

"why the fuck would you do that?! i really thought you changed man, we all did!!!" hyunjin tightened his grip onto chan's arm before letting go, and chasing after jeongin.

chan was left there, all alone again. he knelt down on the ground and suddenly, tears started falling down his eyes. he really cared about the younger and had no intention of hurting him, or cheating on him. he knew he fucked up but he didn't know what to do.

meanwhile...

jeongin ran and ran and eventually made it to his home. before he could even step foot inside the gate..."jeongin!! innie wait!!" hyunjin called out to him. he stopped.

both boys were panting hard from all the running. jeongin collapsed to the ground. he was breathing heavy from all the running and crying. hyunjin took no time in holding the boy in his arms, letting him cry out on his chest.

"h-he kissed her jinnie!! he kissed her!!!"

"shhh, i'm here now. he's a jerk, you don't need him" his bestfriend cradled him on his lap, running his fingers through the boy's soft locks.

eventually, jeongin managed to calm down and hyunjin carried him inside. he fell asleep during the process so hyunjin brought him up to his room and plopped him on his bed. he placed his lips on the boy's forhead before standing up to leave when he was held back by the arm.

"...stay, i don't wanna be alone" the younger whispered.

"alright innie" and with that, hyunjin scooted over onto the bed and pulled the sheets over the both of them. he let jeongin cuddle up on him and they both fell asleep.

chan however could not. he was in so much guilt that he just could not fall asleep. he called the boy at least 10 times but they didn't come through. so he texted him instead.
