Fireflies || Jeongchan

chapter 12

1:32 am in the morning. the two boys were so close to falling asleep in each other's arms. after the movie ended, they stayed up talking about anything and everything. chan had the sudden urge to ask...

"why did you say i was your...firefly?"

"oh..."

jeongin looked up at chan before looking straight again. he sighed and started to speak.

"that's what my parents were to me. they were my hope, my happiness, my light in the dark. ever since...ever since they left me. my life was always dark" he paused.

chan felt so bad about how he treated the younger before. no matter how many sorries he'd say, he never felt contented with himself. as a result, he just cuddled the boy deeper onto his chest.

"but now i have you channie" jeongin looked up only to smile at the elder, who gave him a peck on the forhead before the two eventually fell asleep.

the next day after chan had left, jeongin was about to make himself lunch, when he heard the doorbell ring. he put his fluffy slippers on and walked to the door. he opened to see hyunjin.

jeongin told hyunjin to come inside and assisted him to the kitchen so that they could chat while jeongin was making lunch. "why the sudden visit jin?" he asked while boiling the pasta.

"well...i missed you" hyunjin said so casually. jeongin just looked at him and smiled. "i missed you too jinnie" and then he proceeded with his cooking.

after a few conversations on various topics, the pasta was finally done. jeongin separated it into two bowls, one for him, one for his bestfriend. hyunjin whispered a 'thank you' as they sat down, placed their bowls on the dining table and started digging in.

as it was time for hyunjin to leave, jeongin made sure to walk him up to the front door and before he could say goodbye, he was paused with a peck on his forhead from the elder.

"goodbye innie" hyunjin flashed him his killer smile before waving goodbye. jeongin waved back, totally confused. but again, friends do that...right?
