Raging Hormones

It was early Spring and the morning sun changed into midday as it bathed the park in golden sunlight. Your daughter, one and a half year of age, kept chattering with you due to excitement that she was allowed to go to the park with you and James. Sitting on your haunches, the weight of your big belly that held another baby girl inside, keeping her warm until she was ready to open her eyes to the world around her, made you sigh a little.

Smiling at Anna you pulled up the zipper of her pink coat, protecting her from the chilly air while you  listened to the language she made up her own out of words you did and did not recognize.

Getting up you put your hands on your back trying to stretch out the ache that’s been there for a few days now. From the corner of your eyes you could see and hear the snapshots being made of your little family. Anna didn’t notice a thing and happily continued playing. Sighing loudly, you started to get irritated with the paparazzi that kept following you everywhere you went.

James makes his way over to you, sitting down next to you on the bench that had a perfect view on your little girl. He puts one hand gently on your stomach, rubbing it lovingly.

“I can’t wait.” He spoke softly, kissing the corner of your mouth. Again, 20 snapshot sounds are heard. You kept quiet and James noticed the annoyed look in your eyes.

“What’s wrong?” James asked, stroking your cheek with his finger.

“Do they have to follow us EVERYWHERE we go? Don’t they know I want privacy, I don’t need a thousand pictures of me looking fat and ugly.” You yelled a little loud, hoping they could hear you. James frowned knowing you were close to tears because the hormones had that effect on you lately and shifted his feet, his gaze fixated on the moving bushes. He walked over there talking to the men that sat there, explaining them to leave you all alone for the day.

Walking back with a smile, you looked past James seeing the paparazzi leave in groups. He sat back down next to you, placing an arm around your shoulder.

“Honey listen, you’re not fat. In there is our little daughter, and you are keeping her safe until she’s ready. It’ll be okay. And you’re not ugly. You’re glowing, you’re so beautiful.” He said, kissing the tip of your nose.

You smiled a little, intertwining your fingers.

“How did you get them to leave though?”

“I just asked them to.” James chuckled.

“They were probably afraid you might beat them up if they didn’t.” You said sarcastically. James thought about and nodded.

“Probably.” You both laughed and watched Anna play in the sand, making mud pies as she smiled up at her mommy and daddy and her future little sister. She let out a happy cry.
