James, we’re friends.’’ You answer James. He turns his gaze towards the floor with a frown on his forehead.

Before this situation you were sitting alone on the front porch steps, looking up at the full moon. Your eyes were glued to the greyish craters, and somehow that moon was bigger than it used to be. It captivated you.

The front door opened, letting the music that was blasting inside sound much more louder. It closed again, leaving you in silence but only until James spoke up, you noticed there was someone sitting next to you.

‘’I know. And I think that’s only the best way to start out a relationship. Unless you don’t feel anything for me..’’ He says quietly, staring at the drink in his hand before taking a sip.

You thought about it. It was true. He knew about your past, your fears and he cared for you. He would never intentionally hurt you.

But did you feel the same way? You looked up at him, and a mixture of feelings was well known in his eyes.

Most of it was caring and loving, but also a bit scared and hurt.

‘’I don’t know if I feel something for you James.’’ You shrug.

‘’I’m scared to love.’’ You say in a quiet voice. There was no need to talk loud.

James sets down his drink and takes your hand in his. He forced you to have eye contact with him.

‘’I know you are (y/n). But if you will give me a chance. I’m in love with you, and I want to prove that there is good loving too. Not just bad.’’ He gave you a hopeful smile.

Not waiting for your answer, he flickers his eyes from yours to your lips, leaning in slowly just to see your reaction.

You didn’t back away, instead you just sat there, waiting for the warmth of his lips on yours.

James noticed, and now just an inch away from you, he pressed his soft lips on yours for just a second. But to you it lasted long after he pulled away.

From that one kiss you could see how much you wanted him in your life and how he was just right for you.  It also showed you how much it was going to hurt if you would ever split up.

‘’Fall for me.’’ He whispers. He could read in your eyes what you were thinking just now. You flash him a smile.

‘’Only if you promise to catch me. No matter what.’’
