Your POV

"How many times do I gotta say it?!" James yells. By now, I don't even care what the neighbors must think. I'm hurt, mad, and very heartbroken.

"I just don't understand! Why do we gotta take a break?! It's a just a summer tour! It might be different if it was a world tour!" I yell right back.

"Because! We don't know what's gonna happen! You might not want to be alone while I'm gone." He's decided his throat has had all the yelling that it can handle, and quiets his voice.

"So, you're saying that you're not gonna be able to stay faithful. Because so many pretty girls are going to fling themselves at you, and you might just want to take advantage of that?" My snarly attitude was perfect.

"WHAT?! No! What even made you think that?! You're being ridiculous. I'm just saying that you're gonna get lonely, and I don't want that."

"I just don't care anymore. Just go. Go on your stupid little tour! Forget everything! Forget all the dances, laughs, fun, and everything! Forget me! Just leave, James!" I point at the front door. He walks closer to me, just inches from my face. His hands hold my face, and he looks unto my eyes.

"I will never forget you. Promise." He kisses my forehead, then exits without another word. I remain frozen. Not able to move. Only to sit on the couch. The house booms with silence. My stare off blankly. I cross my arms over my chest. But my only thought was 'Why?'. This word rang through my head like firecrackers in an empty building.

After swallowing that thought, I moved on to 'It's gonna be fine.'. Even though I knew very well that it wasn't.

Then my phone started ringing with my best friend's ringtone. I didn't care much, so I didn't even move. I didn't care if I missed my best friend's call, or my mom's, or anyone's for that matter. I just want to sit here.

I cuddle up to the back of the couch in a ball-like figure.

"This can't be happening. Not to me. Not to us. Did he just play me? But, James for sure isn't that type of guy." I mumble as if there was someone there that I was explaining myself to.

I don't move for the rest of the night. I just drift off, wishing that I would've made him stay.

*Fast Forward to October 14th.*

"Yeah. So what? I don't care that's he's been back for two days. And I don't care that he's not bothered to call. And, you know why? We're not together anymore, Mom." I put my final make-up touches, and walk over the closet.

"But, that boy was always such a gentleman. And so nice looking. He would've made some pretty grandchildren for me."

"So, why don't you go date him if he's all that?" I roll my eyes, and pull out my favorite red dress.

"Don't get mad at me. And, if you're not going to see James, then who are you getting all dressed up for?" I put my earrings on, and finally turn to face her.

"I've got a blind date tonight." I admit.

"Oh! Did that friend of your's set it up?"

"Yes, Mother."

"Good. That girl always had great taste in men. And fashion." We both laugh, and I finally slip into my dress.

"You look beautiful, Darling. So, do you know where you're going?"

"I'm being picked up, dropped off, and I'll call if I need a ride home." At that moment, I heard a horn honking outside, and knew that my best friend was waiting on me.

"Go on. I'll let myself out after my laundry dries. Thank you for letting me use your dryer. I don't when my new one will get here. Haha. But, love you. Now, go have some fun."

"Okay. Love you too, Momma." I grab my purse, and leave. The car ride was just about 15 minutes. I was a little nervous. I have no idea who this guy is, or what he looks like. All that I know is that we have the balcony table. Right on!

I walk in, and I tell the waitress where I'm supposed to be. She looks me over, then tells me to follow. I smile as I see the view over the balcony's edge. The sun just above the horizon, a dolphin coming up out of the water every now and again, but nothing can beat that saltwater aroma.

No date yet, but the waitress closes the double, french-style doors. Instantly, I felt free. The breeze was blowing gently, the sun was shining, and I finally had a date.

I walk to the edge, and think of what a helpless romantic this guy must be. You know, because what's more romantic than a dinner at a fancy restaurant at sunset, with a mysterious guy? Can this guy even be real, or am I dreaming again?

Just a little over 10 minutes has passed. I sit at the table, and begin to pull out my phone. But, before I could even dial a digit, I hear a voice.

"Excuse me." A chill runs down my spine at the shockingly familiar voice.

"James?" I question, and turn around.

"Surprise." He walks closer.

"You're my blind date? Why? I thought that you were done with me." I don't say it with hatred, spite, or any bad emotion. It was just a question.

"No. I just didn't want to hold you back."

"From what?"

"In case you got lonely, I didn't want you to be tied down to me."

"I'm only happy when I'm with you. Or, that's how it was."

"That's how I feel about you."

"Really?"

"Really. And, I'm sorry that I hurt you. I didn't want to-." I cut him off.

"Shut up, and kiss me." We both smile. We meet each other, and just let our lips melt together.

"I love you more than anything." He whispers through the kiss. We're never gonna break up again.
