A week later

I wake up to the doorbell going off. I opened the door and see nobody but then I look down and it baby AJ in a basket with a note on top of him labeled "August". "Ohh my god" Kaila said picking up the basket and bringing it in the house. I close the door and we walk into the kitchen. "August I need you to come downstairs." I semi-yelled. Kaila picked him up "He is so cute." she said. August comes downstairs "Wassup." he said and then realizes Kaila holding AJ. "He was on the doorstep with this on top of him." I said giving him the note.

"Open it." he said and I opened it. "It says To August and Love, I got the results back today and August you are not the father. We already knew that but I knew that you would be a great dad to him. I am not in the postion where I can take care of a baby. So I decide to give him to you both. I signed my rights over to you both and I know he will be in good care." I read aloud. With the note was the DNA results and the paper of her giving up her rights. "This shit just got crazy." Kaila said. The door opens and its Chris and my dad. "Wassup family." Chris says.

Then they both see the baby "Um Lo did you have the baby and not tell nobody and I thought you were having a girl. Plus you only 5 months. I'm mad confused right now." Chris said. "No this is Baby AJ." Kaila said. Chris and my dad look at me and August "So whats the baby doing here? I thought August wasn't the father." my dad said looking at August. "Dad calm down. He's not the father and here is the paper saying so. But here is also a paper with his mother giving her rights up to me and August." I said giving my dad the papers.

"What." Chris said looking at the papers with my dad. "She left him on the doorstep with a note." I said getting mad. "Why would she do that? After her going to social media making August look bad and then give him up like that." Chris said. "It doesn't make sense at all." I said. "Well I'm clearing my name and letting everybody know what she did because this is fucked up." he said. "Yeah it is but now we have another baby to think about now. We wasn't prepared for this. He doesn't have food, clothes, a bed." I said.

"How you going to take care of him? You about to have a baby in 4 months if not sooner." My dad said. "I'm not giving him away after what his mom just did. I know he is going to be safe and loved being raised here with me. I can protect him here. It's going to be hard but I'm going to make this work." I said. "We going to make this work." My dad said. "Right you got us to help with whatever" Kaila said. "We family." Chris said "Lo you don't have to do this. This is my problem not yours." he said.

"We about to be married. Shit we already married in my eyes. So your problems are our problems and we going to solve them together." I said. He smiled at me "I love you." he said and I smiled back. "You have your mother's heart. I love seeing the women that you are turning into." My dad said. I smiled "Alright enough of this. Can you watch him while I go get stuff for him?" I asked Kaila. "We all will. Go ahead we got him." Chris said taking him from Kaila. I smiled "Thank you." I said going upstairs to get dressed.

August followed me "I want to go with you." he said. "Okay." I said walking into the closet. "Thank you for doing this." he said following me into the closet. "August listen my parents raised me to have a good heart. I already feel bad for the baby because of the mother he had and now she just gave him up like he was nothing. The system sucks and me not knowing if he is okay and safe will stress me out. Especially knowing I could of gave him a safe, loving and protected home. It's going to be hard but I know we doing a good thing by keeping him. I would be damn if my mom did that shit to me or I did that to my child. I'm going to raise him like my own and love him like my own. From the moment she left him on our doorstep he became mine." I said.

August smiled at me then kissed me "Can we just get married right now." he said. I laughed "Boy bye. Lets go get this stuff for the baby. Plus we have to make a room for him too." I said. "Let's get what he really needs right now and then we will set his room up." August said. I smiled and then got dressed. I put on black biker shorts with a plain white shirt and my white air forces. I put my hair in a bun. I brushed my teeth and then grabbed my phone. "I'm ready." I said walking downstairs. "We will be back." August said and then we left.

We went to babies-r-us. We walked in and went straight to the car seats. "Which one you like?" I asked August. "Get that one." he said pointing to the blue one. I went to do grab the box "Move." August said and grabbed the box. "I could of got it. How heavy could it be." I said. "Nope, you are not to pick up anything but clothes, bottles and anything lighter than the baby." he said. "Now what about when I want to hold the baby." I said. "Thats the heaviest thing you holding while your pregnant." he said and I laughed.

We went and got all the other stuff the baby needed. Then went back home. I walked in and the baby was crying. "Chris can you help August bring the stuff in and up to the baby's room please." I asked walking into the kitchen. "Yeah." he said going outside. "K bring him in here." I said. I started to make him a bottle "He hasn't stopped crying. I don't know what to do." she said rocking him. I made the bottle "Let me see him." I said taking him in my arms. I gave him the bottle and he stopped crying "He was just hungry. Who knows when the last time he ate." I said.

"I'm going to go help them with the bags. You need anything?" Kaila asked. "No, I'm okay. Go ahead I got him." I said looking at him while he eats. Kaila walked out the kitchen. I smiled at the baby "You are so handsome. I don't know how someone would want to give you up." I said and then kissed his forehead and rubbed his little head. My dad walked in "So I have a grandson now." he said smiling. "Yes you do." I said not taking my eyes off the baby. "You are going to be an amazing mother to both babies." he said. "Thank you papa for being here and accepting my choice to keep him." I said. "Babygirl, why would I not support the women me and your mother raised you to be. You know that you can give this baby everything and more. So that's what your doing and I love it. I'm going to be every step of the way," he said and then kissed my forehead.

"I love you babygirl and I'm going to love this little boy too." he said. "I love you too papa." I smiled. August, Chris and Kaila came in "Everything is in the baby's room." Chris said. "We also set up the car seat in the car." August said. "In both cars?" I asked. "Yes, mines and yours." he said. "Well, I have class today so I have to go but I'll be back later to help." Kaila said. "Okay love you." I said giving her a hug. "Love all of y'all." she said then left. "Dad you can take the car when you ready to go and I'll come by to get it. I'm going to help them set up the baby's room." Chris said.

"Okay, I'm about to get out of here. I'm cooking so I'll call Lo when its done and yall come eat." My dad said. "We will be there." I said. My dad left and the boys went upstairs. I finished feeding AJ and then burped him. I changed his diaper and put him to sleep. I went and laid in the bed with him and soon fell asleep too.
