We woke up and still had an hour left so we had small talk for alittle. " So i'm going to sleep the rest of the flight." Kelly said. "I'm about to order something." Asia said. "Fatty." Kelly said. I laughed and looked at Kaila. She was still sleep. I pulled my Macbook out and facetime my mom.

Mommy😍: Hi my baby
Lourdes💙: Hi ma
Mommy😍: Where are you ?
Lourdes💙: Going to Mexico
Mommy😍: For what ?
Lourdes💙: A girls trip.
Mommy😍: Awww that's nice. With who ?
Lourdes💙: Kaila, Asia and Kelly
Mommy😍: Kaila, why is Kaila going with you ?
Lourdes💙: She wanted to come on the trip and I wanted to spend as much time as I can while she here.
Mommy😍:Lourdes you know that's not a good idea.
Lourdes💙:Why not?
Mommy😍:Because she should be focus on college not going on trips.
Lourdes💙:Mommy she fine I promise when it's time I'll make sure she focus on college but it's summer for her so why not let her enjoy it while it last.
Mommy😍: You right and i'm glad see has someone to look out for her

Mommy😍: well I gotta go. You ladies have fun call me when you guys get home.

She hung up. My mom has stage 4 lung cancer. Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer is the most advanced form of the disease. In stage IV, the cancer has metastasized, or spread, beyond the lungs into other areas of the body. That's basically means as much as they try to get it under control it's too late. Kaila knows my mom is sick she just doesn't know it's as bad as it is. I went to my camera roll on my macbook and looked at videos and photos of me and my mom. I clicked the video when my mom was giving birth to Kaila. I was 2 and Chris was 10. Chris was looking between my mom legs (Gross ik). I was in my dad's arms next to my mom. "Oh my god, i see her head." Chris said. "I want to see baby head" I said. "You will see her when she comes out." My dad said. "One last push." The doctor said. My mom push and then you heard the baby crying. "She so beautiful" My dad said. "Who's cutting the core ?" The doctor asked. "Chris and Love." My mom said.

My dad gave me to Chris and I put my hands on the scissors and Chris put his over mines. We cut the core "Yayyy" I said. They cleaned up Kaila and gave her to my mom. My dad sat me next to my mom "What her name ?" I said. "Baby Kaila." My mom said rubbing her head. "She looks just like you Love" Dad said. We all were looking at the baby and smiling. The video ended. A tear fell from my eyes. "Sis are you okay." Kaila said. I looked her "Yeah i'm good. I'm going to go to the bathroom." I said closing my computer getting up and walking to the bathroom. I turned the water on and splashed some on my face. I got paper towels and wiped my face. "You gotta be strong for Kaila. Your who she looks up to and you can't show her your weak side. Be strong and independent. Show her all she needs is family and herself." I said looking in the mirror.

I went back to my seat "You good." Kelly asked. "Yeahh just ready to get off this flight." I said. " Got 30 minutes left." Asia said. "Thank god." Kelly said. "Right." I said. Kaila grabbed my hand "Are you sure your okay" she asked me. I nodded my head "I'm fine" I said. "Are you sure" Kaila said. "Kaila I'm fine" I raised my voice. "Okay I'm just making sure" She said and looked out the window. I took a deep breath. "Ladies and Gentlemen the fasten seatbelt sign is on please remind in your seats. We will be laying in 30 mins." The flight attendant said. I put my headphones on and just was thinking about my mom.
