(Was reading cloudybubblys Ariana imagines and I read one about an earthquake and now I wanna write one, about an earthquake. Simple as is, enjoy champagnes. Also I'm sick 🤒)
Y/N POV:
I smiled as Ariana pulled me closer to her chest.
It was a late Saturday morning in the middle of July. We were curled up together in bed, both sharing small kisses and warm hugs while 'your favorite show' played in the background. Her arms were wrapped around my waist while mine draped over her shoulders. I rested my forehead against hers and kissed her nose lightly, making her smile.
"Ahh, we need to relax like this more often." She said, pecking my lips a few times.
I giggled and nodded, snuggling deeply into her warm embrace, and I was just about to close my eyes when I felt a small but alarming shift. We both shot up from bed when the house started shaking uncontrollably. I grabbed my phone and a large shirt before running down the stairs and outside to the backyard, Ariana on my heel.
The dogs bolted out after us and stood by our feet as we watched our house sway back and forth.I grabbed onto Ari's hand in fear as the chandelier crashed from inside.
"Oh god oh god, I can't watch." I said, turning away.
She heard my sentence and pulled me into her arms, stroking my hair and whispering that it will be ok. After a few minutes the rumbling and shaking stopped and I immediately whipped around to see the damage. I gasped when I saw everything and fought back tears.
The whole house was a mess, as all the pictures and furniture were tossed into a catastrophic pile. The kitchen sink was ripped from its pipeline and water was spewing everywhere whilst the chandelier caused a glass wave. The front door was obliterated and the floor collapsed near the stairwell, showing the damaged recliners and projector in the movie theater.
"Oh man, this screams financial crisis." I muttered, loud enough for Ariana to hear.
She chuckled at my sarcasm and pulled me in for a tight hug, swaying us slightly.
"It'll be ok, we will figure it out." She said, kissing my cheek.
I nodded in agreement before jumping slightly when my phone went off. I took it out to see Joan's, Ariana's mom, face on the screen. I instantly clicked accept and put it on speaker.
"Hey Momma G." I said, glancing around at the mess.
"Oh my god thank goodness you picked up! I called Ariana like five times but she never answered. Are you guys ok? That earthquake was rough." She yelled frantically.
"Yeah we're ok, just a bit shaken up but ok."
"Is Ariana with you? Is she alright?"
"Yeah Mom I'm here, my phone must've been destroyed when the earthquake happened." Ari said.
"Oh my, how bad is it?"
"Pretty bad, I don't think we can stay here for awhile."
"Oh don't worry, you two can crash at my place for however long you need. Just come over and Nonna and I will get y'all settled."
I smiled at her words, "Thanks Momma G, we will be right there as soon as possible."
"Ok, love you both. See you soon." She replied before hanging up.
We both hurried to get the dogs and as many salvageable clothing we could before rushing out with the cars to Joans house. We soon arrived and got as comfortable as possible, Joan checking us for any injuries and Nonna throwing shade at our messy looks. All of us ate dinner peacefully and I finally felt safe enough to realize that I couldn't go to work now.
"Welp, there goes my salary." I said, chewing on a piece of broccoli.
"Oh don't be silly, I'm sure they will provide you with new credentials and weapons. It's the fucking navy." Joan said, putting more vegetables on Ari's plate.
When we all finished Ariana and I said our goodnights and headed for bed. I sighed and rested my head on the soft pillow before snapping my eyes open when a hand brushed my cheek. Ari smiled at me and kissed me softly.
"Earthquake or not, you always manage to stay positive." She mumbled against my lips.
I laughed and snuggled into her arms before drifting off to sleep, happy that she and I were safe.
