mondstadt was on the verge of destruction, and that wasn't just the start of your troubles. knights fell; the skies darkened; the fatuis took their places as kings of mondstadt as well; with albedo by their side, they were powerful. jean took klee elsewhere, to seek refuge, to be able to find somewhere new to call home. venti tried his best to fight whatever he could, but just as you climbed all the destruction, you saw the young bard's feather on the ground under all the rubble - but you could no longer see venti.
that night, the people of mondstadt held candles outside, a monument of his protection over mondstadt. you were among the crowds, hiding in scarfs and robes. albedo sat on the throne of the destroyed favonius palace, and as the people worked as slaves, albedo gave you the chance to be with him.
"why won't you join me?" albedo asked as he had one of the fatuis drag you by the arm all the way towards him. the fatui threw you across the floor as you were helplessly, and quite so pathetically, truing to get to your feet. albedo stared down at you, like a cat looking down at a dead rat. no remorse. no sympathy. as if he hadn't just killed a man before. "why do you refuse me?"
