home didnt feel like home.
honestly, how many more nights did you have to work for your home to actually feel like one? the endless working shifts people had to put in to restore the city was absolutely ridiculous. the higher-ups werent doing anything to help, all they're doing is kicking back on their million dollar couch which everyone worked long hours to achieve.
you chose one of the harder jobs in this new society, which everyone respectfully called The Military. it was a simple job by mouth but when it came down to doing all the mechanical stuff, it was beyond emotionally draining.
The Military is responsible for destroying every single robot as humans these days have been feeling slightly worried about coexisting with machines that lose their minds from time to time, not to mention some that develop a mind of its own.
honestly you didnt understand what the fuss was about, and it went again all your morals whenever you did this job. shoving crying parents away from their android child and destroying it because the child "wasnt human".
people could differentiate humans and androids easily. androids always had a slight glow in their eyes which always shone, and when they get doused in water, they start sparking and malfunctioning.
that's usually how you people destroy androids, just pour water on them and watch them malfunction and... well, "die" so to speak. it may sound uncommon but a lot of people keep androids with them. its actually nice to have a friend in this society even if the friend wasnt real.
it broke your heart every time you had to storm into someone's house and destroy the one thing that they cherished. usually, you dont willingly go into other people's houses. The Military dont involve themselves in androids WITH a human but they have to when some petty idiots report on it.
the higher-ups hate it when humans have androids at home, and if you didnt do your job you would probably be one of the people out on the dirty streets. you didnt want that.
