the smell of curry, it woke you up. the scent of the spice entered your nostrils, and you were soothed by the smell of comfort food. your body was no longer burning, but your skin felt like it was cracking. even your eyelids were struggling to open without somewhat breaking apart.
"ahh..." you groaned in pain as you tried to open your eyes. then you heard some shuffling.
"oh, youre awake. please dont open your eyes first, let me help you." a soft voice came from the corner, and you kept your eyes shut for the time being. footsteps approached you and you heard him sit on the bed. you then felt something jelly-like and cool being applied on top of your eyelids. instantly, the pain went away. you felt so much better after that ointment that you wished you could apply it all over your body. "there, you can try opening your eyes now, slowly though.."
you slowly opened your eyes, hoping that it wouldnt hurt, and it didnt. once you could see again, your eyes landed on a young boy with short hair hanging below his— wait he had no ears? you tried to look for his ears, and thats when you noticed them. big fluffy ears on the top of his head. you blinked a few times to make sure you weren't seeing things.
