"scaramouche seems to have taken up a new type of habit," signora said, ignoring that he was in the same room as her. she only paid her eyes on childe. "he started smoking a lot."
"i dont see the issue," childe responded, flipping the page of his book. "i think he deserves it."
"dont act like you care, you're probably happy that she's gone, since you've been promoted."
childe raised a brow, and he wasnt smiling. "dont act like you're super innocent. you went straight up when she died as well."
"at least i didnt celebrate her death, like some people." signora glared towards childe, who only shut his book and placed it aside. he rose from his chair and adjusted his leather coat and looked signora straight in the eye.
"listen to me, missy, i didnt celebrate her death. i only celebrated the fact that we got promoted. you left before i had a chance to hold a small memorial for her death, and now youre telling me this shit. do i really look like i want to hear this?"
the atmosphere of the room was thick, almost as if you could cut it like butter. after you died, scaramouche was the one who buried you in the snow since that was your wish. you always wanted to know how snow felt like, and the tsaritsa was kind enough to let scaramouche bury you where ever you wanted to be buried.
since then, signora and childe had been on semi bad terms as she was invited to what seemed like a party to celebrate the death of you. the truth was, childe was celebrating getting promoted for everyone else but was also planning a memorial for you, but signora left early so she never got to see that part.
