I was taking a stroll outside when...

"hey young leader what are you doing out on your own?" I turned around to see my bodyguard kaito running towards me. I rolled my eyes. Can't I be left alone for five minutes!

"I'm fine kai-chan you don't need to follow me around like a sad puppy"

"I you don't need to have to have such an attitude" he folded his arms.

"guess we're both not getting what we want then" I muttered snarkily.

Kaito sat beside me. We both glared at each other before turning away with a "hff!" sound. There was silence between us...

"the stars look beautiful tonight" kaito said breaking the silence.

"you like stars?" I questioned.

"oh yeah. In fact I plan to be an astronaut when I grow up" his eyes lit up when he talked about it. He must be really passionate about space.

"in that case why are you acting as a bodyguard for a vigilante when you could be studying to actually become an astronaut?" I questioned.

He sighed "my grandparents are sick and in need of a expensive operation. My parents are dead and I don't have any other family members so I'm the only one who can help them out"

"I see so you need money to help your grandparents out. I can respect that"

"thanks" he grinned at me "what about you? What's your family like?

I clenched my teeth "dice is the only true family I ever had. I left my real family a long time ago"

"family problems eh? Sorry I asked"

"it's fine" I sighed "all of us were abandoned by society. Deemed as failures from the start. That's why we do the things we do. Its to send a message that we will not disappear. That we'll continue to exist whether they like it or not!"

Kaito nodded thoughtfully "so dose this mean I'm part of the Dice family now?"

"I guess so" I said hesitantly. I don't know if I want to agree to something so crazy!

"awesome" he grinned "I've always wanted a big family!"

His goofy grin made me blush. What the hell! Why is this idiot making me feel so strange?
