chapter 10

Day 10: coming out
(Gin and Akutagawa)

Gin heard the front door open, one minute closer to the big conversation. She took a deep breath, and walked out to greet her brother. "Hey, how was the mission?"

"Exhausting, but I got it done. Do we have tea?" Akutagawa asked, peeling off his coat and shoes.

"Yes, it's in the kitchen. It should be hot still. It's in the kettle."

"Thanks." Akutagawa headed to the kitchen, followed by Gin. He picked a cup, and poured the liquid from the kettle. He leaned against the table, sighing. "So, what did you do today? I thought the boss had you going on a mission?"

"Ah, yeah. I got it done quite quick. Then he just said I could go home for the day." She poured herself a cup of tea, sipping it every once in a while. "Hey.. Can I talk to you about something?" Well, I guess this was happening.

"Sure."

No going back now. "I uhh-" she nervously sipped her tea before deciding to just do it. "I'm a lesbian. I like girls." She took a long, slow sip of tea, expecting her brother to be confused and take a while to respond--

"Okay. That's fine."

Tea went everywhere. "Ah! My throat!" Gin coughed, not expecting that response, which led to her spitting everywhere.

"Hey, you're supposed to keep the tea 𝘪𝘯 your mouth, dummy." Akutagawa smirked.

Gin gave him a glare, wiping her mouth with a towel. "Ow, damn that hurt.." She cleaned off her cup at the sink, and felt arms wrap around her middle, hugging her.

"Hey, I'm proud of you. Thank you for telling me." Akutagawa said in a soft voice, which was rare for him, so she knew he was being genuine.

Gin smiled. "Thank you. I love you, Ryuu."

"Love you too, Gin."

"Does this mean I can continue screaming Katy Perry songs at 3AM?" She asked.

"Absolutely not."

She laughed at that, watching as Ryuunosuke disappeared into his bedroom. She smiled, going to grab her phone to text her new girlfriend.

Unbeknownst to her, she squealed in real life as well, and also unknown to her, was Akutagawa standing just by his door, smiling at his happy sister.
