Day 11: Non-binary pride
(Elise and Yumeno)

The heavy metal door of Q's cell opened, a girl with long blonde hair peeking her head inside. "Yumeno? Are you here?"

"Elise..?" The thirteen year old child picked up their head, dull eyes scanning the room until the fell upon the girl, who was now inside the room. "What are you doing here? You know Mori will get mad if he sees you with me."

Elise sat down next to the child, pulling out a small cake and candle they had in a bag. "Who cares about Mori? He's mean, he hurts you and I don't like that. He can go die." She lit the candle on the cake.

"Elise! You can't say that about him! What of he hears?" Yumeno's voice was shushed, afraid that the mentioned man would come in and hurt them.

"It's okay, he's too busy with work right now." She passed Yumeno the cake. "Here you go. I hope you like chocolate, it's all they had left in the kitchen."

Yumeno stared at the cake. "I- I don't get it.. Is it my birthday or something?"

Elise giggled. "No, silly! It's pride month! Remember when I said that I would celebrate it with you this year? I don't back down on my promises, so here we are. Now blow out your candle."

"O- Oh.." Yumeno started down at the cake. "Thank you, Elise.." They took a moment to make a wish before blowing out the candle.

"Happy pride month, Yumeno!" Elise hugged them, smiling widely. "Even though you tend to listen to Mori, he's wrong. You're gender identity is completely valid, and there's nothing wrong with you."

"Thank you for being here with me.. Happy pride month.." The child began to eat the cake, occasionally sharing it with Elise. This year had been hell, same for their entire life, but maybe this would be a highlight of the year to look forward to. Them and Elise, celebrating together.
