chapter 8

Day 8: Asexual pride (Dazai x Oda)

"Oda? Am I broken?"

The question caused Odasaku to look up from his place at the table. He put down his book and made his way to the couch, setting Dazai in his lap. "Why do you ask that, Osamu?" His fingers gently carded through dark brown hair.

"I- Just.. I don't feel like everyone else.." He said, sulking.

"Well.. You are in the mafia, so you're bound to feel a little different."

"No, a different kind of different. Like with my body.. I feel.. Incomplete? Or.. Broken? I don't know.." He hung his head low, resting it on Oda's chest. "Everyone in the mafia talks about sex like it's nothing, but.. I just feel.. gross about it.. I don't know what's wrong with me."

Oda smiled a sad smile. "Honey, there's nothing wrong with you. It's completely normal to feel like that."

Dazai looked up at him like he had just proposed to him. "I- It's normal..? I m not broken..?"

Oda shook his head. "No baby, you're not broken. It's completely normal. If I may suggest, you might be Asexual."

"What does that mean?" Dazai asked like an Innocent child.

"From what I gathered, Asexual is when someone feels none, or very little sexual attraction. Is that something that you relate to?"

Dazai's eyes widened further. "Y- Yeah.. It does.." He looked down at the floor, then back at Odasaku. "B- But what about you?" His voice became sort of frantic. "We're dating and--"

"Woah woah, Dazai calm down. Deep breath.." Odasaku calmed Dazai down. "Dazai, I'm not going to leave you over something like this. It's okay, relationships aren't all about sex. I love you, and that's what matters."

By this point, Dazai was in tears. He finally had a reason for how he felt, and his partner still wanted to be with him. He wasn't broken, he wasn't different, he was himself. And that's what was important. He didn't have to change to please his lover. He was loved for who he was, and was respected and seen. Finally.

"I will always love you, Osamu. This changes nothing, you're still my little cuddle monster." Dazai laughed at that, wiping tears from his face. The two shared an Innocent, and quick peck before they focused back on the movie on screen.
