chapter 18

Day 18: Demi-Boy/Demi-girl pride
(Kyouka and Kenji)

Kunikida, Kenji, and Kyouka walked around Yokohama, looking for the store they wanted to go to. It was June, which meant Pride Month. This was Kenji's and Kyouka's first pride, so Kunikida wanted to celebrate by getting them their very own pride flags.

Luckily, they were looking for pretty similar flags, Demi-Boy and Demi-girl. That's what they came out as a few months ago, as both of them had a feeling like they weren't completely a girl and a boy. They worked through it together, doing research, and found the identities that fit them perfectly, and they were very happy with them. Of course, the agency was very accepting, and today, obviously, Kunikida surprised them by taking them shopping for pride flags.

"Woah! There's so much stuff here!" Kenji exclaimed, eyes sparkling as he looked around the store.

"What do our flags look like again?" Kyouka asked, turning to Kunikida.

The blonde man showed them a picture of both their flags, and sent to two off to find them. "Be back as soon as you find them, alright?" The two kids nodded, and then they headed off.
Meanwhile, Kunikida looked around the store, admiring all the pride-themed items it had. This wasn't like any other store during pride, though. Unlike other stores that took down their pride items after June, this one kept their items all year round.

After a few, possibly twenty minutes, and a rainbow mug in Kunikida's hand to purchase, the kids returned with their respective flags, big smiles on their faces.

"Thank you for letting us get these, Kunikida!" Kenji beamed, wrapping the flag around his shoulders. Kyouka had a smile on her face, her flag neatly folded in her arms.

Kunikida smiled, proud of his kid's bravery to be themselves, and happy to see them happy. "Alright, let's go pay for these." The trio walked to the register, payed for their stuff, and headed out back to the agency. When they got back, everyone congratulated them on getting the flags, and Ranpo helped them hang them up in their dorms.
