Chapter 13

"What the hell," Kya said in astonishment as she walked out side with the rest of her family. "What happened here?"
"Lin couldn't have done this could she?" Bumi asked with wide eyes.
"Make an island?" Aang answered, "I don't doubt it. And not just because we are on an island now."
"You really think she could do this on her own?" Katara asked.
"Oh, I'm sure she wasn't alone," Aang added.
"She went full Kyoshi on us," Bumi laughed.
"I knew she was gonna do something to get back at me, I mean she was too calm yesterday, but I never expected this," Tenzin said looking around completely flabbergasted.
"I mean I probably could if I went into the Avatar state," Aang said.
"Lin did this on her own and you'll have to go into the avatar state?" Katara asked.
"Oh I'm sure Toph helped."
Katara shrugged, "Yeah your right. This is definitely something Toph would do."
"Well you two have school, so get ready and I'll fly you to school on Appa," Aang said.
"Our house is now an island, and we still have to go to school?" Kya grumbled. "I thought this would get me out of that science test."
"Do you think Tenzins safe there," Bumi teased. "I mean Lins gonna be there."
Tenzins eyes widened. "What if she attacks me!"
"She's not gonna attack you," Kya snickered. "Maybe you haven't noticed but Lin's a bit of a goody two shoes.

"Did you really turn the air temple into an island?" Senna asked Lin, chuckling with amusement.
"I don't know what your talking about," Lin smirked to her friend. "That just happens to be a happy coincidence."
"Oh yeah, I bet," Jae snickered following Lin to their next class.
"Lin!" Kya called. Lin turned and locked eyes with the waterbender.
"Hey Kya," Lin greeted her.
"Oh don't act all innocent," Kya snickered, "Nice job on the air temple."
Lin acted shocked. "Me? I would never!" she said sarcastically.
Kya chuckled, "How longed that take you and your mom to do?"
"An hour," Lin mumbled. "But only because it was really heavy to push out to sea."
Kya rolled her eyes. "My dad said he'd have to go into the avatar state to fix it."
"No he can't do that!" Lin exclaimed, "He can't ruin our handy work."
"Uh, Lin?" a small female voice said from behind her. Lin turned around and saw Pema standing there clutching her books.
Lin's eyes grew dark. "You've got some nerve talking to me," she snarled stepping towards the smaller girl.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened, though nothing really happened between Tenzin and I if that means anything to you," Pema said.
"Yeah whatever," Lin scoffed pushing past the girl purposely knocking into her.
"You're lucky she didn't yell at you," Kya grimaced.
"Or try to kill me," Pema added, laughing a little.
"True," Kya snickered.
Throughout the day Tenzin tried to get Lin to talk to him but she kept pretending she couldn't see him or hear him. That is until after school when he was following her off campus trying to get her to talk to him.
"What the fuck do you want," Lin finally snapped at him, causing Tenzin to jump back.
"I wanted to say i'm sorry."
"Cool," Lin responded unfazed.
"But what you did to my house was complete uncalled for," Tenzin scolded.
Lin rolled her eyes and took a menacing step towards her ex boyfriend. "You really wanna ridicule me right now?" she asked in a low dangerous voice as she narrowed her eyes at him.
Although Tenzin was a good 5 inches taller than her, she still scared him when she got angry. Well she scared him in general but especially when she got like this.
"You've got a point," he admitted. "But I really am sorry. And I was going to break up with you but I didn't know how. But nothing really happened between Pema and I, though that doesn't make it much better I know."
"Look, I don't wanna hear it," Lin snapped turning on her heels and walking in the opposite direction. Tenzin watched as her walk away not bothering to chase after, he knew he was gonna have to give her some time before he could talk to her.

Kya knew Lin was trying to act as put together as possible and though she was able to fool everyone else, she didn't fool her. So when she couldn't find her after school she decided she was just going to go to Lin's house and hope she was there.
She knocked on the door and in a couple minutes Lin's younger sister Suyin opened it for her.
"Hi Kya!" Su chimed smiling at the older girl. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to see Lin, is she home yet?" Kya asked.
"She was, but then she left and went to the gym," Su shrugged. "You can wait for her here though if you'd like?"
"Sure, what are you up too?"
"I'm doing the work that I missed at school, Lin went to my teacher and got it for me."
"That was nice of her," Kya said, slightly suprised that with everything going on Lin still managed to worry about her younger sister.
"Yeah, I'd rather do this than train with her. Shes scary," Su shuddered dramatically.
Kya laughed, "She's just taking her feelings out on everyone else right now."
"Yeah, she told me Tenzins a dick."
If Kya had been drinking something she would have done a spit take at this little girl saying the word 'dick'.
"Are you supposed to be saying curse words?"
Su shrugged, "Mommy says them, and Lin says them."
"But there a lot older than you are," Kya explained. "Those are adult words."
"Mommy won't care," Su informed her.
It had been nearly three hours when they heard the front door open. Kya rushed to see Lin with Su following suit but were disappointed to find Toph Beifong there instead.
"Is this a party for me?" Toph said playfully. "Where's Lin? I can home early for her and she's not even here?"
"She went to the gym and hadn't been back since," Kya informed her.
"She came home grabbed her bag and left," Su added. "It's been over 3 hours."
Tophs eyebrows furrowed. "She does always go to the gym when she's upset," she shrugged. "I'm sure she'll come home when she's ready."
"Okay," Su stated, "I'm hungry what's for dinner."
"I already ordered noodles from that place," Toph informed her daughter. "You can have Lin's Kya if she's not home by then. She won't eat them cold."
"Alright," Kya said, still worried about Lin.
"Besides, bet it'll be hard for you to get home anyways," Toph smirked. "Heard about how the air temples an island now. How mysterious."
"Lin already told me you and her did it," Kya chuckled.
"How'd your dad react?" Toph asked excitedly, "I wish I could have seen the look on his face."
"Tenzin asked if he could fix it and he said he'd have to go into the avatar state," Kya told her. "We were all pretty shocked to wake up on an island."
"Oh he better not fix it, Lin and I spent good time doing that!"
"How'd you get us so far out into the ocean?" Kya asked.
"Oh that was the hard part, but we managed. After all were the best earth benders in the world," Toph gloated.
Their was a knock on the door and Kya jumped up excitedly.
"Don't get all happy it's just the delivery guy," Toph said standing up to go get the food. The three of them ate and right as Kya was cleaning up for them they heard the front door open.
"Now that as Lin," Toph told Kya.
Kya walked as quickly as possible to meet her in the foyer.
