Aesira

I closed the door and made sure to lock it before I followed Athena down the hall and towards the elevator.

She had begged me to go get some food downstairs with her even though we had plenty at our place. But eventually, I had given in to her.

The elevator door opened and I tried to control myself? Carter looked at the both of us, a smile lacing his lips as he moved back to make space.

"My favourite girls!" He said happily. Athena walked in without hesitation sending him a kind smile.

I was stuck in my spot.

"Aesira...?—come on." Athena reminded me. I hesitantly but surely walked into the elevator slowly while making as much room away from Carter as I could.

"How are you, Carter?" Athena asked him.

"I'm superb, thank you for asking. And you? He asked back. "I'm amazing"

"And you?" He spoke again. I turned my head to his seeing his pearly white teeth shine back at me. "Fine" I shrugged looking back to the shiny doors.

"What are you two up to?" He asked once again. I sighed quietly shaking my head.

"We are about to get some food," Athena said back. Why was she being so nice? "Oh would you like to join us" her words made me tense. I did not want to be around any one of those people.

"Oh, I would love to!" He was a little too overjoyed. I don't want him to join. "You are probably really busy though right?" I asked him raising a brow.

He shook his head confused "Mmmmm no I don't think I am." He replied to me. I narrowed my eyes at him. He couldn't have said yes?

"Great" Athena clapped her hands and started walking out as the doors slid open. I took this as an opportunity and punched Carter in the arm.

"Ow, what the fuck!" He said holding it while stepping away from me. "You couldn't have said no?" I asked him confused

"It'll be fun, we can all hang out" he shrugged one shoulder and started walking out. "In case you haven't noticed I do not want to hang out with you" I called out behind him.

He stopped for a moment and looked back at me. I clenched my jaw at his reaction as he pressed his lips together tightly. Fuck...

He glanced at the floor before continuing to walk, I sighed while shaking my head and following him. We stopped at one of the restaurants on the main floor.

"Hello, table for three," Athena said at the front desk. The women looked at her then back at me and Carter. Her eyes widened a bit and she started writing down a few things.

"Oh, Um-We'll have it right away." She said Bowing her head to me and Carter. I scrunched my face I'm confused as Athena looked back at us with the same look. I bit my lip looking at Carter to see him unfazed.

The lady came back not a minute later. "Right this way" she held up her hand for us to follow. She walked us to the back of the restaurant where nobody sat. The seats were fancier and bigger.

"Pick whatever seat" the lady gave us a kind smile.

"When I came here with April we had to sit by the bathroom..." Athena said sliding into a booth. I slid in beside her. "It's probably because we're here with Carter" I shrugged my shoulders.

"Or you..." he spoke upcoming in beside me so I was now in the middle. "Aesira?" Athena questioned. He nodded his head with a little smile that I wanted to wipe off his face.
