in the lab; two men were dragging them down a white marbled hallway away from a man with white hair dressed in a black suit.
they misbehaved, objecting to being tested on and being treated like lab rats.
so, this was their punishment and they hated it.
"PAPA! NO! PAPA! PAPA!" the girls screamed as they were being dragged down the hall, being taken far away from the man that they called papa.
the bad men turned a corner, heading for a door at the very end of the hall.
the girls eyes widened as they continued fighting, trying desperately to get out of their restraints.
one of the men kicked the door open, tossing the girls inside of an empty room.
when they went to get up to try and run out of the said room, the door was slammed on them and the sound of the door being locked was heard afterwards.
eve hid in the corner, breathing heavily. obviously having a panic attack.
el stayed at the door, pounding her fists against it. calling for papa.
after several minutes of doing so, she had given up. knowing he wasn't coming to let them out of the room.
they'd probably be in there for hours. the rest of the day in fact.
no food. no water.
that's usually how it was at the lab.
eleven laid her head against the wall, sobbing.
were they really undeserving of love? they had wondered. they started to believe it and even now being out of the lab they still believed all of the things the bad men had told them.

after the flash backs ended, the door to the closet swung open revealing mike on the other side.
he noticed that they had been crying, a look of concern washed over his face.
"eleven, twelve?" they cringed at their former names. since being given proper names from mike, they really didn't want to hear their previous names being said ever again. "is everything okay?" when no response came from either of them, he went "el, evie?"
"mike." el sobbed, embracing her sister.
"is everything okay?" mike asked.
the girls then nodded. even though it was clearly a lie.
"are you sure?"
"we promise." el said, remembering what mike said to them earlier about promises.
