eleven and el were fast asleep in their bed together, holding onto each other along with the teddy bear they shared with one another.
the door to their room creaked, awaking them from their nightmare filled slumbers.
papa sat down at the end of the bed, making them sit up.
"today is a very special day. do you girls know why? because today, we make history. today, we make contact."

el and eve awoke from their bad dreams, breathing heavily.
eve sat up, watching el make her way over to a lake.
the blonde wig had fallen off el some time during the night, she had now it in her hands. she went to put it back on, but now it looked messy showing her buzz cut that made her insecure.
she sighed, taking it off.
she looks at her reflection in the water, growing frustrated she let's out a scream. sending birds out of their trees and the lake water rippling.
this was a good start to their morning.

the girls needed food. back at the lab, they'd manage to live without food considering they were never allowed to have it there. since having had said food, they realized they couldn't live without it and needed some asap.
and so they decided to go with the one food they really deeply loved.
eggos or whatever mike had called it.
the girls found a grocery store not too far from the forest they were in. without a care in the world, they entered the store going to look for the eggos they've been craving.
when stepping into the store, eve remembered a time back in the lab. their first time going to the other side.

"it's okay, eleven and twelve. don't be frightened. these are all friends. they're just here to watch. don't focus on them. stay in here, like before." papa explained.
"yes, papa." eleven spoke softly, speaking for both her and her sister.
"now, remember. whatever it is, it can't hurt you. not from here. so there's nothing to be frightened of. It's reaching out to the both of you... 'cause it wants you both. hmm? It's calling you two... so don't turn away from it this time. i want you girls to find it. understand?" he instructed.
eve nodded.
"yes." el responded.
