the boys were down in the basement coming up with a plan to get will back. they had no idea if they were going to be successful or not, but they had hope and that's all that mattered.
"we just tell our parents we have AV club after school." mike decided. "that'll give us at least a few hours for operation mirkwood."
lucas looked over to the girls who were sat on the couch with a red and white blanket draped over their laps.
"you seriously think that the weirdos know where will is?" lucas asked, bitterness lined in his tone.
"just trust me on this okay?" mike requested.
with a roll of his eyes, lucas gave him an "okay" though he wasn't making any promises.
"did you get the supplies?" mike asked, quickly changing the topic.
"yeah." lucas started to name off all of the things he brought with him.
when it was dustin's turn, dustin named off all of the food items he brought which the girls didn't mind. when food was involved, they were happy.
"seriously?"
"we need energy for our travels. for stamina." dustin said, defending himself. "and besides, why do we even need weapons anyways? we have them." dustin pointed to the girls, who were listening in on their conversation.
"she shut one door!" lucas snapped, referring to el.
"with her mind!" dustin reminded him.
"are you kidding me? that's insane." lucas mumbled.
dustin walked over to him as he said "imagine all the other cool stuff they can do." he picked up a strange looking object from the floor, showing it to the girls. "like..i bet they can make this fly."
he let go of the object, the girls watched it fall to the floor.
dustin frowned, picking it back up again.
"okay, concentrate, okay?" he asked of them, letting go of it again in which it fell not levitated.
they weren't going to tire themselves out by making some weird looking toy float in midair. even if they did, they weren't going to put on a show for them. the bad men forced them to use their powers all day long, they weren't going to start doing that again for anyone else now.
dustin continued doing this a few more times, before thankfully mike stepped in and stopped him.
"they're not dogs!" mike fumed.
"boys! school!" mike's mother called from upstairs.
all three of the boys groaned, picking up their backpacks from the floor.
