(Y/N) POV
I watched as Childe got a scolding from Signora. The sound of rain outside was still loud, that means that they are still battling the ancient god Childe awakened. He'll definitely be hated in Liyue for what he did.A few Fatui doctors came to treat the more serious wounds and left. The damage Childe did to me was bad but not too bad. The doctor said that other than the physical wound, I had some internal bleeding from the delusion's side effects and a fractured wrist, no wonder my wrist was hurting. I was recalling how I could have fractured my wrist when it hit me.
It was when I plunged down from above when Childe broke the ground on the current level he was fighting on. The delusion was already dealing damage to me and the force of the plunge was strong enough to just allow the tip of the sword to cut into the armor. I frowned, I won't be doing much fighting anytime soon.
Childe was constantly hugging me and telling me that he was sorry the whole time until Zhongli arrived.
"What's Zhongli sensei doing here?" Said Childe. Signora walked to Zhongli. "Rex Lapis, if you would. The gnosis please," Said Signora. Childe was obviously confused. The door to Northland Bank opened again. Lumine and Paimon came in. "What's going on? Signora?!" Said Lumine, going into a battle stance. "Wait! You can't beat her! It's best not to fight!" Said Paimon.
Lumine relaxed. She looked at Zhongli with confusion. Zhongli went on to explain everything and handed his gnosis over to Signora. Signora, Chlide and I left. I waited outside for Lumine to go out of Northland bank. "Oh, hey (y/n). Thanks for helping me deal with your brother back there...are you ok?" Said Lumine
I winced slightly as I raised my injured arm. "I'm just a bit injured. Other than that, I am fine. Don't worry. I can't fight for a while though, I guess I'll just return to Mondstadt to see Diluc, I guess I'll see you around?" I Said. Lumine nodded and left.
Time skip to 4 days later, (y/n) arrives at Mondstadt
I finally made it to Mondstadt that evening. I had to avoid the hilichurls and other monsters on the way to Mondstadt, I was in no condition to fight yet. I entered Mondstadt and immediately noticed people stare at me. It was all too normal wherever I go, my identity is always bound to be revealed somehow.
I decided to check the tavern for Diluc first. I went in to see a bunch of drunk men but no Diluc. I sighed, I left the tavern and walked towards the dawn winery.
I was near dawn winery when I decided that maybe I should wait until the next day to see Diluc. The sun was already setting. I decided to sit at a high place and enjoy the view. I found a nice place to sit which overlooked the dawn winery from afar. The dandelions nearby swayed in the mild breeze, I closed my eyes for a moment.
—flashback—
I was training by myself near a cliff by the seashore in Snezhnaya. I slashed at the tiny snowflakes which fell from the sky, I wanted to be faster to attack and more accurate so I was trying to slice snowflakes that fell from the sky. From a distance, it would seem like I am just slashing at the air. I missed a lot, this was 2 years back when I was not a harbinger yet.
I activated my pyro vision and decided to try my 'elegant' dance moves with my sword fighting skills.
I created ribbons of fire as I moved, the ribbons of fire hissed as it came into contact with the cooler air. I felt the wind pick up slightly. I closed my eyes, letting the wind lead my actions. I had heard of quotes from Mondstadt from a traveling merchant before, I unknowingly took those words to heart a few times in my life.
I wondered what would happen if I was granted with an anemo vision instead but shook that thought away.
End of Flashback
I opened my eyes, and sighed. I missed those peaceful days when I still didn't have blood on my hands.
Suddenly, someone hugged me from behind. I saw red hair, it was Diluc. "Oh hey Diluc," I Said. Diluc sat down beside me. "With your ginger hair, it's too easy to spot you from afar," Said Diluc, still hugging me. At that moment, my injured hand accidentally touched the ground, I winced a bit. Diluc noticed and his expression changed to a concerned one and he pulled away.
"Are you ok?" Said Diluc.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine," I Said, I didn't want Diluc to worry for me, he is usually busy too.
"No you're not. That was a pretty bad lie for a Fatui Harbinger, you are injured. How did it happen?" Said Diluc firmly.
I sighed, there's no hiding it. I explained everything. Diluc's face was harder to read than ever, it was a mix of anger, worry and who knows what else. "I...I don't know...what to say...this is just...just so..." Diluc was having trouble finding the words to describe what I told him.
"Don't worry, I'm fine now. I am fine and alive," I Said, placing my good hand on Diluc's head. Diluc bushed. "Let's go to the dawn winery, you can stay with me for the night," Said Diluc.
Diluc POV
Why is it getting harder to look (y/n) in the eye after what she told me? She could've died and...why do I...why do I hate the Fatui and love her? She's a harbinger! Can I continue to love her? Should I break up? Should I....?Word count: 1017
