Love or hatred? (Diluc x y/n) OLD VER

38:Uh-oh

(Y/n) POV
I was using my skills and I was wearing a black cloak to sneak around the cathedral's outside. I carefully looked into Maria's room. She was talking with Kaeya and Amber. I couldn't hear what she was saying but from Amber's expressions, I could roughly tell what.

Asking the knights to watch me closer? Is that it? Or is she asking them to question me further...or maybe she wants them to capture me and question me the hard way! I don't give in so easily though, heh.

I continued to watch until Amber and Kaeya left. I watched Maria further but she went to sleep. I went away from the Cathedral unnoticed and returned to the Fatui occupied hotel. Childe was there, he was waiting for me apparently. "Yawn! How long did you want me to wait?" He said in a sleepy voice. I put my hands on my hips.

"Since when did you ask me to meet you here?" I Said, putting away the black cloak I was using. "Anything new on Maria?" Said Childe, leaning closer. I shook my head and pushed him away. "Oh quit coming so close to me, just because Lumine is being called here and there to investigate the stupid situation..." Childe placed a finger on my lips.

There was chattering nosies outside. We went to a balcony which overlooked the front. Kaeya was talking to a Fatui agent with Amber. We kept low so they didn't notice. They were talking rather loud so we could hear their conversation.

"Please leave, the Harbingers do not wish to see you at this time," Said the agent, crossing her arms. Kaeya gave her a frown. "But surely they would understand that is is an urgent situation?" Said Kaeya, he had an ominous look in his eyes.

The agent shook her head firmly. "Please leave or else we will have to ask you to leave by force," Said the agent in a cold voice. Amber looked at her and just frowned, she whispered something to Kaeya.

"Ok fine we'll leave you alone. Since we can't have a chat with Signora or Tartaglia, let's go pay (y/n) a visit shall we?" Said Kaeya to Amber as they left.

"They're going to the dawn winery. Kaeya probably thinks that I'm with Diluc..." I muttered. Childe smiled at me and he stood up. "Then what are you waiting for? Follow them! And if it gets interesting, show up!" Said Childe, an ominous look was in his eyes. I frowned at him. "What's with the ominous look? Some sort of unstated trend?" I muttered before going after Amber and Kaeya quietly.

They reached the doors of the dawn winery, I had a black half cloak on. My ginger hair was a bit too easy to spot at night. Kaeya and Amber entered. I watched through a window. Diluc seemed to be arguing with Kaeya. I sighed, I hid the cloak somewhere safe and went inside.

"I heard you were looking for me?" I Said in a half annoyed tone. Kaeya turned around, Amber looked at me with a mix of terror and surprise. Kaeya dismissed Diluc's glare and clapped his hands. "How nice of you to show up! Now, I believe we have some matters to discuss?" Said Kaeya, he showed no signs of a threat but I know that he's probably planning to fight.

"I'm sorry but I'm frankly not interested in the Maria situation, I have better things to do. It won't be long before I have more tasks assigned to me. I don't care about your questionings, farewell," I Said before leaving. I gave Kaeya a cold and fierce look that only he would notice before I left. I was walking back to Mondstadt when a pyro charged arrow flew past me.

I sighed and turned around to see Amber and Kaeya ready to fight me.

I summoned my sword in my left hand. "Don't waste your time," I Said, throwing my sword in the air and catching it with my right hand. Kaeya summoned icicles using his cryo vision. I melted the ice with pyro and charged at him, knocking his sword out of his hand and kicking Amber's bow away from her.

"Baron bunny!"

I jumped back as a baron bunny exploded. I grumbled softly, this is an annoying fight. I took advantage of the smoke from the explosion and went behind them."Forgive me but I don't want to waste my time, goodnight!" I Said as I knocked them both out. I returned to the Fatui hotel, I didn't feel like staying with Diluc tonight.

Childe was waiting for me, as expected. He smiled at me and lead me to a big room with a huge bedroom. "What? You want me to sleep with you?" I Said in an awkward tone. Childe shrugged and gave me a hug from behind.

Sigh...I know who you are pretending I am...but when I'm pretending too...

Childe POV
I know who you're pretending I am sis...but I'm also pretending...

(Y/n) POV
I yawned and changed into pajamas and watched as Childe sat down on the bed beside me. I looked at him, he was wearing a light grey shirt and darker grey shorts. He gave me a hug before pulling me down with him as he laid down. His hands were cold, I held his hands in my own. My hands was warm, heating up Childe's cold hands.

I fell asleep in his arms, how long has it been since we last done this as siblings? I could not recall but I decided to give up on that thought and just slept.

The next afternoon...

I was walking along a path in the forest near the dawn winery when I felt someone pull me by the arm. The person yanked me into a stone wall with force. I looked at the person who yanked me, it was Diluc. He looked angry.

I looked at him with a straight face, he found out about Maria was what I thought.

"You had something to do with what happened to Maria didn't you?" Said Diluc.

I looked at him with no expression. "What makes you think that?"

Diluc gave me a frustrated look. "Well, the Knights were able to recover the footage of the few cameras in Maria's mansion. You hired assassins to kill her, did you not?" Said Diluc

I almost laughed.

Assassins? After MARIA? Ha! Is he underestimating my skills or did he forget that I can assassinate? Is he testing me? Man, those disguises did something at least...who knew that lady had hidden cameras in her mansion? Eh, a good lie should get me out of this one!

"What assassins? Don't you think there's a possibility that Maria plotted it herself? To get your attention?" I Said, looking at Diluc with a serious look. Diluc moved back a step from me. "Now that you mentioned it...I heard from that Kaeya that Maria often complained about her guards. Maybe she got sick of them but why kill the elite ones?" Muttered Diluc.

"Oh that's simple, the assassins probably betrayed her or something," I Said with an unreadable expression. Diluc took that into consideration.

I feel bad about lying to him...
