Love or hatred? (Diluc x y/n) OLD VER

28:A day with Venti and Zhongli

This chapter is short
And there is some Chilumi parts if you hate this ship, I would recommend you skip this chapter, nothing important really happens except for the last few paragraphs. Do read that.

Third person POV
Diluc's morning that day was busy, busier than usual. (Y/n) was left all alone. She was strolling around in the woods when she bumped into Venti.

"Oh! Hey (y/n)! Long time no see!" Said Venti. (Y/n) remembered this bard, she met him when she first went to Mondstadt. Signora had told (y/n) that Venti was the anemo archon, an no doubt, Venti seems to know that (y/n) was told of his identity.

"What are you doing out here anyways?" Said (y/n). The bushes behind Venti rustled. Zhongli appeared from behind the bushes, he held his spear and he seems to be angry. "Uhhh...Morax, my friend. Please, spare me! I didn't mean to give Lumine wine...please! It was a mistake!" Begged Venti, fearing Zhongli.

Zhongli was also looking at (y/n) fiercely too. "And you, where is my wall-I mean where has Childe been? I invited him to have tea with me this morning. I heard he was at Mondstadt but all I found was this bard and a drunk Lumine," Said Zhongli. Venti was still cowering in front of him while (y/n) was just trying not to laugh.

"Hey Zhongli sensei-" Childe just walked up from behind (y/n), he didn't seem to notice Venti and (y/n) who were now huddling together in Zhongli's shadow as he loomed over them. Childe literally froze in place. His expression was a mix of surprise, amusement and shock. Zhongli's expression and mood changed.

"Ah! Childe! There you are. Let's spend this lovely day shopping around Mondstadt shall we?" Said Zhongli, smiling as if nothing happened.

Venti and (y/n) looked at each other.

(This is Venti and (y/n)'s thoughts)
...what's with Zhongli...his mood changed so quickly...

Childe finally noticed (y/n) and gave her a hug. "You still haven't apologized for knocking me out yesterday, sis," whispered Childe. (Y/n) stared at Childe. "Why should I? You were the one who wanted to MURDER me!" Hissed (y/n). Childe frowned and hugged her tighter. (Y/n) was trying to make Childe let go of her when Venti made a suggestion.

"Hey guys, how about we spend the day together?" Said Venti. Zhongli reluctantly agreed and Childe just went with the flow. "I would love to tour around Mondstadt, with my friends. I wonder if Lumine is coming," Said Childe.

(Y/n) shrugged. Lumine and Paimon...she had no idea where they were now. "Eck!" Screeched a familiar voice. Lumine had bumped into Childe from behind. Childe smiled, Lumine looked at Childe. Her face pinkish-red. "S-sorry..." Said Lumine. Childe's smile brightened. "Awww, no need to be so apologetic! You must be charmed by my handsomeness eh?" Said Childe.

Lumine turned even more red. "Y-you bastard!" She muttered. Childe hugged Lumine. Zhongli and Venti looked at each other. "Let's go," Said (y/n), leading the way.

They spent half of the day shopping before they decided to go do something interesting by the shores of Mondstadt. (The one where you were at when you first start genshin)

(Y/n) lit the fire for the group. They sat around the fire. Zhongli was chattering with Venti while (y/n) was just listening. Childe looked at Lumine and (y/n) with an ominous look. "Hey, what about we have a fight right here?" Said Childe, nudging Lumine.

"No way!" Said Lumine. Childe frowned.

They decided to go to the tavern, it was Venti's idea. (Y/n) and Lumine sighed, they knew Venti was gonna get drunk.

At Angel's Share...

(Y/n) POV
I walked in last. Diluc was behind the counter and glaring at Kaeya who was drunk. Venti ordered Dandelion wine. Diluc gave him a glare, Childe said that he was paying. Diluc sighed. Diluc noticed (y/n) who was standing between Zhongli and Lumine. Diluc smiled at (y/n) for a brief moment before looking away.

Venti and Zhongli sat down in a quiet corner of the tavern and starting chatting and drinking wine. Lumine and paimon sat at a separate table from them. Childe was sitting with me, he was talking to me in a low voice about the newest assignment. "I was requested to team up with you, you understand this is urgent right?" Said Childe. I frowned, missions with Childe often means seriously long work and that means that she would be gone for a week or so.

"What is it about anyway?" I Said. Childe handed me a piece of paper. The contents states:

Mission for Tartaglia and (y/n):
Team up together and investigate a rumor of a new threat. An unusual looking creature was roaming around the forests at the northern side of Snezhnaya and poses a great threat to the people living there. Investigate and exterminate the threat once you find it. This is to be done in secret and nobody outside the Fatui should know of this.

I frowned. What will I tell Diluc? Childe looked at me. "We are to leave tonight," said Childe, getting up. "Meet me at Liyue, before midnight. You'll find me at Northland bank."

I nodded and watched as Childe left.

Maybe I could tell Diluc that I have an important mission and would be gone for a while. Yes, that would work. I'll tell him now.

I walked up to Diluc. "Diluc...I have a long mission I have to go on. Please take care while I'm gone. I'll be back."

Diluc looked longingly at me as I left. His glazed was filled with worry and a spark of loneliness formed in his eyes.
