26:The event

Time skip, to the day before the event
(Y/n) POV
I woke up to Diluc already awake, he was reading some pieces of paper. I sat up, my injuries definitely hurt way less. Diluc was that I woke up and went to give me a firm yet gentle hug. "Are you well enough to walk?" Said Diluc. I tried walking, it was ok but my legs feel tired and it's hard to even walk fast. I sighed. "I guess I can walk but I can't run or even walk faster..." I Said.

Diluc hugged me again. "Don't even think of running, you're still not recovered halfway yet!"

I closed my eyes for a moment. "Heh, I guess you're right..." I Said. I ate breakfast and went outside of the dawn winery just for a short walk. The decorations for the event was already set up. I noticed a suspicious figure. The figure darted towards me and gave me a hug.

"H-hey!" I Said, alarmed. Turns out, the figure was Childe. He wanted to check on me. "Hey sis, awwww, you're as sweet as ever!" Said Childe. I frowned at him. "Can you let go of me?" I Said. Childe let go of his hug and looked at me. Naturally, he noticed that I was injured. "Oh...your injuries are not healed yet? Or are those new ones...?" Said Childe in a low voice.

I looked down, I had no intention of answering the question in detail. "Well...I was injured again. Nothing serious, but I won't be fit for battles for a while," I Said. Childe was unsatisfied with the lack of detail but he didn't press me any further to my surprise.

Third person POV
Childe decided to leave after a few minutes so (y/n) decided to go back inside. Diluc was speaking wit Elzer and (y/n) decided not to interrupt them so she decided to do something to kill time. (Y/n)'s missions were done, for now. So she didn't really have much things to do. She had sent a message to Signora and she had received the reply. Signora said that she had handled everything for (y/n)'s leave of absence and she could rest assured.

Signora is a great friend, dang she helped me so many times. Maybe I should repay her somehow, maybe I should try to do some sketching.

(Y/n) found an empty sketchbook she had in her bag and took out a pencil and started to sketch the best she could. (Y/n) ended up sketching a hawk, well, mostly because Diluc's pet hawk was in the room too. She ended up drawing the bird a bit too fat...the version of Diluc's pet hawk which she had drawn was a much chubbier and more non-serious-looking as can be. In short, it was an extremely chubby and cute drawing of Diluc's hawk.

(Y/n) showed the bird the drawing. The hawk tilted its head, it squawked with confusion. (Y/n) giggled, she heard the door open and Diluc came in. "What's that?" Said Diluc, pointing to the sketchbook. "Oh, this is my sketchbook. Look how cute this drawing is," Said (y/n), showing Diluc her drawing. Diluc smiled, it was rare to see Diluc smile but when he does, it just makes him look so cute.

Diluc spent the rest of the day handling the last minute preparations for the event tomorrow. (Y/N) went for a walk near Dawn Winery and bumped into Lumine and Paimon who had returned with Zhongli to visit Mondstadt.

"What? An event at dawn winery? Will there be food? That's it! Paimon say we go to the event!" Said Paimon. Zhongli had no objections and Lumine reluctantly agreed. "Well, see you tomorrow then! Bye!" Said (y/n) before watching them go. (Y/n) had dinner cooked by Diluc. She was surprised by his skills. They watched the sunset and went to sleep.

The next morning...

Childe POV
I was walking around Mondstadt when I saw Lumine and Mr Zhongli and a person in green. "Oh, hello Childe. What are you doing here in Mondstadt?" Said Zhongli, greeting me.

"Oh me? I'm just here for the Dawn winery's event! What about you and who is this?" I Said. "I'm Venti the bard!" Said Venti. Lumine explained that Venti was her friend. We decided to go to Dawn winery together later that day.

(Y/n) POV
I woke up to find that Diluc was already working. I stretched my arms out and winced. I sighed. Why do I keep on forgetting that I was not fully healed yet? I changed and decided to walk to Mondstadt to go look for Lumine and Zhongli. I told Elzer to tell Diluc of my whereabouts if he ever asked and left.

I spotted Childe among the crowds, he was with Lumine, Zhongli, and Venti. I sighed, this surely wouldn't end well. Childe spotted me and walked over. He hugged me as usual. "Wait...Childe has a girlfriend...?" Said Venti, confused. "Ew, no! I'm his sister," I Said, trying to moved away from Childe.

Childe let go after Lumine forcefully separated him from me. I felt pain in my left side, Childe must've hugged too hard or maybe I struggled too much. "So, have you been up to anything interesting lately, (y/n)?" Said Lumine. My eyes widened, I was surprised by this question. "Nothing that would interest you," I Said. Lumine shrugged and changed the topic.

I hung out with them until it was half an hour before the event starts. I went back to dawn winery. Diluc was standing on a makeshift stage that was set up inside the dawn winery, it looked grand although it was just there temporarily. When Diluc saw me, his face lit up with joy. He walked up to me and gave me a hug. "Enjoyed your walk around Mondstadt?" Said Diluc, giving me a quick kiss on the forehead.

I nodded, smiling at Diluc. I felt my cheeks heating up as I looked at Diluc longer. He was just so...so...handsome and cute. I decided to watch the people arrive through the window in one of the rooms.

I saw a lot of rich looking people, I saw that Donna from the flower shop, she was looking around as if she wants to see Diluc.

She's probably only here for Diluc. Oh look, there's Childe, Zhongli, Venti and Lumine!

I went out of the room and walked to my group of friends. "Hey guys!" I Said, waving at them. They walked over to me, Venti already had his eyes on the barrels of wine. "Hey! Tone-deaf Bard! Don't you dare become drunk and make us drag you back to where you came from!" Said Paimon. Venti laughed and ignored that question. Kaeya, Amber, Lisa and Jean arrived. Kaeya was greeted by the stern and cold look from Diluc as usual.

"Well, enjoy yourselves tonight. This is one of the only days you can get free wine," Said Diluc, walking away to talk with the other guests.

I stayed with Lumine and Paimon mostly while Childe, Zhongli and Venti went off somewhere. A man, one of Diluc's men, walked up to stage.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Dawn Winery's monthly event! As usual, you men know what to do!" Said the man, nodding at a few men with their daughters who were standing by the side of the stage. Diluc walked into stage, he had gone through this like a million times.

I watched from where I was, I heard about what happens at the event every month but honestly, this moment was very tense for me. The first woman was slim and graceful. She purposed to Diluc with what seemed like she loves him for real. Diluc rejected. The second woman was not as slim as the first one guy she was way more gorgeous. That woman purposed in a half-heartedly way. The third one purposed, lack of emotion and all. The last one, she purposed rather emotionally. Diluc rejected them all. I could tell that the last and first one was trying to hold back tears but the last one ended up breaking into tears as she walked away.

"And as usual, Master Diluc rejects every single women! He would be best married to wine!" Said the man before letting Diluc off and continuing with some entertainment speech. Diluc had snuck up behind us without us noticing and placed his hands on my shoulder.

Diluc smiled at me, I couldn't help but to bush and smile automatically. Diluc went to entertain the guests while I just hang out with people.
