It was 5.30 am when I opened my eyes, for James was showering to leave. I rolled my eyes in some sort of despair, because it was too early to be awake. I also could hear my father who was already up too, and as the door of our bathroom cracked opened I raised my head and smiled as I saw James entering the bedroom completely naked.

"Now that's a sight for sore eyes." I said as he was choosing his underwear.

"Sorry." He apologized. "Did I wake you up?" He said, sitting on the bed and then kissed me.

"Not really, it was the noise of the water running. Do you want me to go downstairs and make you breakfast?" I asked, stretching and yawning. "Jesus... I am dead." I complained for I still felt really sleepy.

"No, thanks. " He smiled down at me. "I'll take care of it; I just hope I won't poison your father with my food." He said and that made me laugh.

"Your breakfast is great." I said. "You make great eggs... so I guess you will be fine."

"You are sweet." He told me.

"I am telling you the truth. Do you think I would endanger you near my father?" I asked and we ended up laughing.

"I'm gonna get ready." James said, getting up from the bed. "I want to get to the kitchen before he does."

"Go." I told him.

James finished getting ready and went downstairs. I could fear him in the kitchen struggling with the pans. I knew the mess I'd find when I'd get up, for he usually left the kitchen quite messy. Then, I heard my father joining him and they were talking, but I couldn't hear a word. I only hoped they would have a good time. After half an hour James got in the room tip toeing.

"Are you sleeping?" He hushed, but I was still awake.

"No." I said, turning to him.

"Well, I just came here to give you a kiss. We're leaving." He said, sitting next to me on my side of the bed.

"Have fun, babe." I told him, raising my head to kiss him good bye. "And James, please, pretend you're a lousy hunter and don't kill any animals, please." I asked with the sweetest tone I could pull off at that moment. "And don't shoot my father either." I laughed and he did too.

"Your father is going to think I'm a pussy if I don't. You heard him yesterday." He claimed.

"He's just going to think you're really bad at it." I rephrased.

"Ok, the things I do for you." He said, rolling his eyes.

I sat on the bed and I hugged him tightly. It was true he did anything he could just to please me. He knew how dead animals freaked me out. When he brought the pheasants, I almost killed him too. I am for sure one of those people who would starve before killing anything.

"Thank you" I said, letting go of him and giving him one final kiss.

"I just hope your father won't shoot me." He told me. "If I don't come back, know that I love you." He said as he walked to the door and trying to sound dramatic.

"Love you too." I responded.

As he closed the door, I wrapped myself in the covers and closed my eyes. It was too soon to get up. I woke up a couple of hours later. I showered, got dressed and went to the kitchen to put some order in it. As I imagined James, left the usual mess. I made some fresh coffee and toasts, and I was eating when my mother entered the kitchen.

"Hey mom, good morning. " I said as I opened the door, so Disco could go out. He was yelping in front of it. "Did you sleep well?"

"Slept great and you?" She asked.
