A/N so this is an addition to a story I did on AO3 titled Remember Where Your Home Sweet Home Is

************

It had been bugging him ever since she said it, and he supposed she didn't mean to hurt his feelings or take such a low blow like that, because she wasn't that kind of person, but...

He found her putting away their clean laundry, and he knew he had to talk to her. "Linda, can I have a word?"

"Have a sentence even!" She smiled at him, or at her joke, and started putting socks away.

Danny put his hands on hers and lead her to the bed, "the other day, when we were at that hotel... you sort of threw the fact that I was suicidal in my face."

Guilt tinged her features, "I'm sorry, Danny. I know I shouldn't have said that, and I'm so sorry I did, but you got me so mad."

"It's not like I chose to be suicidal, Linda."

"I know, and I'm sorry, I really am. I know it was the hardest time of your life, and I am so sorry I... threw it in your face like a dirty old sock. I really didn't mean any harm by it."

"Then why toss it around like that?"

"Because that was a hard time, Danny. That was... really, really rough. Rougher than the few spats we've been having." Linda looked down at their conjoined hands, "that's the- you know the vows, for Better or worse, good and bad... when I think about the bad and worse, that's where my mind goes. When you were hurting so much, and I couldn't do a damn thing to help you."

"I get that you were angry, but... I'd appreciate it if you didn't use that as a weapon against me."

Her head popped up and now she looked offended. "I didn't! I wasn't! I told you why I said it!"

"Could you just not use it as... an example? It makes me feel.. I dunno. Bad." It made him feel weak, but he wasn't going to tell her that.

Linda apologized again, "I'm sorry, Danny. I won't do it again."

"Thank you." He released her hands and cupped her face, tilting her head up for a forgiving kiss.

Linda hugged him after the kiss; she had been feeling bad about throwing Fallujah and his attempted suicide in his face. She was glad Danny came to talk to her, because she was about to do it after the laundry was put away.

Danny hugged her back fiercely. He knew she didn't say it to be mean or to mess with his head or any other awful scenarios that popped in his head. She wasn't that kind of person.

From then on out, Linda wouldn't bring up Fallujah in that way. She never meant to do it in the first place, but she'd make sure she wouldn't hurt Danny's feelings like that again.
