About a minute of silence passed after Frank asked if anyone would like another pork chop. Erin sighed, annoyed, and looked at Linda sitting across from her. "I can't believe you'd shoot a guy. You haven't even picked up a gin in your life!"

"Hey, I've picked up a gun before!" Linda argued. She hated it, and even empty it made her a little uncomfortable, but she had picked it up.

"You couldn't shoot the broad side of a barn."

"That's not the point, and you know it."

"Then what is the point? Because I think-"

"I'm a mother, Erin. And as a mother, you better believe I'm putting myself between my kids and danger. As a mother- or just a parent- it's my job to protect my kids at all costs, and if that means taking a bullet, so be it."

"So you'd go and find a gun, and go after the guy?" Erin had a note of triumph in her voice, knowing that her sister in law would never do that.

Linda hesitated a second, "n-no. The second he left my house, I would've called the cops. But if it was in the house, and I had an opportunity to grab a gun and protect my boys? You bet your sweet little ass that I'm going to do everything I can to protect my boys."

"Damn straight," Henry agreed. "That's top priority as a parent: protect your children."

"And just so we're clear... when I say my boys, Danny's included," Linda added.

"Thanks, babe."

"You're welcome," she patted his arm.

"Everyone here would do the exact same thing... except Jamie and Erin apparently," Danny mumbled.

Erin shook her head, extremely annoyed.

"Erin, just a few weeks ago, you said you'd rob a bank if Nicky needed a life saving surgery and you couldn't afford it. You would go to jail for sure. But now you're not willing to, only because there had to be some supposed premeditation? Robbing a bank is premeditated!"

"You'd rather have Nicky die, then go after the guy wanting to hurt her?" Linda questioned, shocked. "I thought you'd do everything to protect her."

"She's just pissed off," Nicky mumbled.

"So was the Dad!" Henry, Linda, and Danny exclaimed.

Erin shook her head again, "I have a job to do, and what the man did was wrong. We're going to prosecute him."

"Wrongfully," Danny muttered, loud enough for his sister to hear.

"F*** off, Danny!"

"You can't talk to him like that!" Linda complained, ready to throw hands for her husband.

"I can do whatever the hell I want! You-"

"Let's keep it civil!" Frank yelled over his daughter.

Erin stood up and left in a hissy fit.

It was quiet for a few beats before Linda said, "don't ever say that, boys."

"What?" Sean asked.

"The f-word," Jack explained.

"Oh. Okay."

"Sorry, Frank," Linda started, "I didn't mean to-"

"You did nothing wrong, honey," Danny cut her off. "Erin's just got the usual stick up her ass."

"Anybody who'd rather follow the law instead of protecting their flesh and blood from danger shouldn't be a parent." Henry told the boys, nodding once.
