Blue Bloods Drabbles

"You have been prickly all day long," Linda started, calculating her husband's moves. "When I asked if you could make it to church and dinner, you bit my head off! What is the deal?"

"You have no need to know," he answered curtly.

"Oh, okay. I get it. I got in the way of your case. Never mind I'm a person with feelings!" Her voice was thick with sarcasm. "Not to mention the one person you're supposed love, honor, and respect above anyone else."

Danny sighed, "what's your problem, Linda?"

"I just told you my problem. I have a problem with you biting my head off when I ask a simple question," her voice was calmer now. She walked up to Danny, put her arms around him from the side. "Tell me what's going on."

"I can't."

"Can't or won't?"

"Legally- I can't. I can't even tell Jackie or Gormley."

"But I'm not a cop. I'm just your wife- who am I gonna tell?"

"Why is this so important to you?"

"It's important to me because it's making you upset. And when you're upset, it upsets me. Your feelings are important, Danny," she reminded him.

Danny sighed, guided her to the corner of the kitchen. "Okay, but you have to promise not to tell anyone."

"Who am I gonna tell?" Linda gave Danny a 'really?' before sighing, "I promise, okay? Now tell me what's got you so bothered."

"You know the shooting in Central Park?"

"Yeah, poor guy. What about it?"

"Sammy, the kid who was shot? He was a cop. Undercover counter-terrorist; apparently the shooting was a warning."

"A warning?"

Danny hated how he saw fear flash in her eyes, "it's okay. Me, Dad, the Deputy Chief... we're working on it."

"And if you don't figure it out!"

"We will."

"But what if you don't?"

"We will!"

She seemed to shrink at his raised voice. She fidgeted a little, "now what?"

"Take the boys home. Watch tv, have a good time."

"But what if you-"

He kissed her from finishing that question, "I love you."

"Danny-"

"I love you." His voice had finality to it.

She relented, "I love you more."

"I love you most."
