A/N not an episode based one, just a cute idea that wouldn't leave me alone

*********

"Linda? Can I ask you something?" Danny asked in the dead of night. They should both be sleeping. He had just gotten back from a late tour, and Linda wanted cuddles.

"Yes. I have full confidence in you that you can verbally ask me a question."

"This is serious."

"Okay...." Linda turned and scooted back to look at him, giving him her full attention. Why did she have a sinking feeling?

"Don't ever leave me, okay? 'Cause if you do, I am a million percent certain that I couldn't live anymore. But if you do decide to go, give me a warning, okay? I want big flashing lights and warning signs and loud sirens. Okay? Deal?"

"Flashing lights, warning signs, and loud sirens. Got it... I won't ever need those though."

"Why not?"

"'Cause I'm not ever leaving. You're stuck with me for life, baby!"

He smiled and kissed her sweetly. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear."

"You okay?" There was worry in her voice.

"Tough week."

She nodded in semi-understanding. She understood tough weeks, but she could never understand a cop's tough week.

"It's a he said-she said case, which I absolutely hate. They're so mean to each other. I think it's going to end up in a murder."

She was confused as to why that would be bothering him. Usually he just came home and told her how glad he was that she was "immensely patient".

"It's bothering you," she stated, like a lawyer stated things to get answers.

"I just...." He sighed, wondering how to put this. "Sometimes I think you might get fed up with me and cops and always having to ditch plans and just leave."

"I knew what I was getting into when I married you. And... yeah, I'm always a little pissed off when you have to leave, but I understand. I'm never going to get fed up with you, because I love you. I love you," she repeated with some conviction. "You're always gonna to be that sweet boy who gave me his sandwich on the first day of school. No matter what you see, you'll always be Danny Reagan, and I'm always going to Linda Reagan, your wife."

She shifted so she was on top of him, "I love you, Officer Reagan, and that is never going to change.... Unless you cheat on me and become a mass murderer."

Danny laughed at her words, "C'mere." He kissed her more passionately than he had before. "I love you. A lot."

"I love you more, and I'd scream it from the roof tops into a megaphone."

"You always make me smile. How do you do that?"

"Love," she answered before kissing him and lowering her head to his chest.

Love. He smiled and kissed her head, "thank you for loving me."

"Thank you for loving me," she responded sleepily.
