Baez studied her partner while they drove back to the precinct. He was in a bad mood- worse than his regular bad moods. She sighed, "what is your problem?"

"What?"

"Why you got a stick up your ass? And why are you being a bitch to Linda?"

"I'm not." Danny argued, his tone short.

"Uh, yes, you are. You've been nothing but rude to her recently. You act like she's an annoyance and not the love of your life."

"Come on, you're being ridiculous!"

"I'm being accurate," Baez argued, digging her feet into the ground. "You and Linda used to be that annoying couple that everyone wanted to be. You know totally in love and unintentionally obnoxious about it."

Danny furrowed his brow.

"You used to almost eye bang each other, and now you can't even look her in the eyes."

"You're insane."

"I don't hear you arguing. I'm only hearing you telling me I'm crazy to get me to stop talking. You love Linda, I know you do. So why don't you act like it anymore?"

He didn't say anything to that, nor did he say anything for the rest of the ride.

"So it never gets easier?" Danny asked after a few seconds.

"It gets easier, some days. Like when you're on modified or behind a desk."

He smiled a little at that. "Have I been a perfect ass?"

"Nobody's perfect." Linda held in her laugh.

He looked at her and she let out her laugh. "If I do that again, you can tell me. You can say he's being a jerk! You can even yell it if you want too."

She rolled her eyes with a smile. "I think I can manage to do that."

"You're such a jerk," he said with a smile and no mal intent. "C'mere," he kissed her again. "I love you."

"I love you more."

"I love you most."
