3rd person P.O.V

It had been two days till Natsu had woken up finally regaining enough magic energy to sustain himself. Unfortunately, Lucy was still unconscious. Wendy didn't know why she was still out, but tried her best to keep Natsu calm. She didn't like seeing her friend so upset like this.

Natsu didn't leave Lucy's side until Ezra made him leave to eat or go home and take a shower. Any other time Natsu was there sitting next to her, holding her hand, occasionally resting his head on her bed. Happy had came by many times to check on him, but Natsu wasn't answering anyone. All he wanted was to talk to Lucy. To tell her how sorry he was that they hadn't been talking lately. That she would always be the most important person in their lives.

Elsewhere in the guild Gajeel had been clinging to Levy like nobody's business. He wasn't letting anyone near her, no matter what Levy would say. Strangely, Laxus had been spending a lot of time near Mira at the bar and anytime someone would get a little too close he would send them a glare that immediately made anyone back off. Mira had yelled at him many times to stop scaring people, but that didn't stop him from keeping other men getting to close to her.

Makorav knew what was happening to the dragon slayers in the guild, but knew nothing could be done about their states right now. He had to just pray that they wouldn't destroy the guild if a man got too close to their prospective mates. Erza walked up to the guild master who still had the worried look on his face. "Master, is something the matter?"

"My dear child, these next few months are going to be very hard. It's that month that the boys are wanting to find their mate and I honestly don't know how to keep them from destroying things." Makorav had told her.

Erza made a face of confusion at first till it clicked in her mind about what the Master was talking about. "You really think it's that time? What gives you that idea?" She questioned him. Her tone soft, not wanting to draw too much attention to their conversation. She didn't want the guild to panic.

Makorav sighed just slightly. "Look at their reactions child. Both Laxus and Gajeel aren't letting anyone close to Levy or Mira. I'm going to assume they're either in the first stage or the second stage. It's hard to tell between the two. Natsu is still beside Lucy's bed isn't he?"

Erza nodded to the Masters question. "Yes, but he isn't being as overprotective as these two. Do you think that means he isn't in that season this year?"

Makorav shook his head. "I'm sure that he is. By him spending so much time next to her and not talking to anyone. Plus from what you told me of how he reacted whenever Lucy got hurt, I'm going to say that most likely all our male dragon slayer guild members are in that season."

Erza lips pressed into a thin line. "So, what are the stages of this season anyway and how come it's only hitting this year. Gajeel and Natsu hitting it at the same time doesn't surprise me, but Laxus is older than the boys. I would've guessed that his would've came sooner for him in life."

Makorav raised his mug of beer and took a gulp from it. Leaning back slightly as he did. All this thinking was giving him a slight headache, but the last thing he needed was for these boys to go on a rampage because of the girls. "There's four to five stages. It varies from dragon slayer to dragon slayer, but almost always there's five. First it starts with them being clingy to the girls. This doesn't go away till the fourth stage has been completed so seeing the transition to the other stages can sometimes be difficult to see. The second stage is that their emotions start to tie together. Even their physical feelings, such as accidentally cutting yourself, or being too cold, has been known to be bonded between the pair. Then comes the protectiveness. I don't mean your average protectiveness. I mean extremely over protective. It's even been said that the male has been known to take their mate to a den of sorts till the fourth stage. The fourth stage is marking their mate. A small symbol usually appears on the spot where they mark to let other dragon slayers know that they have been selected as a mate. Lastly, is the bonding between the two which I'm not going to go into detail about." He finally finished. He looked up at Erza who's face had a slight tint of pink on it from the his last sentence.

Erza cleared her throat. "I..I see why it could be hard to see the transitions between the different stages. What happens after all that has been done? Do they go back to their normal selves?"

Makorav shrugged slightly. "I do not know my child, but we will have to keep a close eye on them. The last thing we need is for them to go on a rampage."

Erza nodded and headed back down the stairs after finishing her conversation with the Master. She was so used to having to break up the fights between Natsu and Gray that she didn't know what to do with all this free time. She sighed ever so slightly and walked over to the bar. Laxus had eyed her slightly, but turned his attention back to Mira. Mira walked up to Erza. "Is there anything I can get you Erza?"

Erza looked up to her and pushed her hair back over her shoulders. "Just a strawberry cake please." Mira nodded and quickly went to go get it. Erza looked up and wondered what Natsu was doing now? If he was still up there waiting for Lucy to wake up.

Natsu's P.O.V

I sat up slowly and looked over to Lucy's sleeping face. I was feeling a bit off. Like there was this pressure on my chest, like an anxiety, that Lucy wasn't going to wake up anytime soon. I stood up from the chair attempting to catch my breath. "She's Lucy. She'll be fine." I keep repeating to myself quietly.

I lean my head against the wall. The cool of the stone was helping to calm me down. I just wanted her to wake up. I didn't know how much longer I could wait. The waiting was killing me. Lucy...come back to me.
