Natsu's P.O.V

Everyone else had made it to the center of camp and we were waiting on Lucy to get here. We all knew it may have taken her a bit longer to get here, but I had confidence in her. I knew Lucy was strong. She could do this.

"Oi, flamebrain, think we should go look for Lucy?" Gray looked at me as he asked. I had to admit, I was getting concerned about what was taking Lucy so long, sure she had her struggles, but I knew she was really strong and was always able to do anything that she set her mind to.

Erza was standing next to Lisanna talking about something, I knew it was most likely about a game plan to find out what was taking Lucy so long to make it her through her section. I watched Ezra and Lisanna talk for a few more minutes before walking towards Lucy's section. I could smell her. I knew she was close. Maybe one of the later tents were giving her a hard time. If we had to make some noise after we already knocked everyone else out it shouldn't be a big deal. I walked my way over to Lisanna and Erza, my sandals hitting against the rock hard ground, and looked at them both. "We need to go find out what's taking Lucy so long now. She could be in trouble."

Erza raised her hand to her chin, she did this sometimes whenever she was thinking, "You're right Natsu. We'll work our way inwards from this position. Checking each tent to see if she's in there and take care of any of the bandits that she hadn't gotten too yet." Everyone gave this slight nod.

As always I knew exactly where to go thanks to my nose. "Come on Happy. Let's go save Lucy."

"Aye sir!"

Lucy's P.O.V

The tall brute that was the bandits leader started circling slowly inside the tent. Out of pure reaction I started to do the same. I couldn't tell what was off about this guy. He just seemed so unusual, not like the normal bandits that we would normally face. He seemed stronger than all the others. Not just because of his unnatural large muscles, but some kind of negative energy was just wafting off of him.

A large grin spread across his face slowly and just the feeling of death washed over me and I took a small step back. His voice was rough and deep as he began to speak, "You know what the problem is with the quiet ones? They're never fun to talk to, but their screams are my favorite thing. Especially from young pretty girls like you." He licked his bottom lip slowly, his tongue had a piercing of something metal in it with a red stone in the middle, and his teeth were almost black. I cringed on the inside. My grip tightening even further over my Fleuve d'étoiles.

His agility was fast, I could hear the loud thumps as his feet ran across the ground towards me, his large hands balled into fists. I flipped over onto my hands, doing a cartwheel, to avoid his initial attack. The wind whipping beside me where he had tried to punch me with his fist. The leader grunted slightly as he tried to turn to keep up with me. So this was going to be my advantage. Sure he was quick on his feet, but going at that speed with his unnatural big body made sharp turns too difficult.

I could feel the burn on my hands from where they had scratched against the ground. I didn't bother looking at them because I knew that they were most likely bleeding slightly. "Fast like a cat. Good reflexes too. I bet your screams are going to be the most delicious to listen to." I had to bite my tongue from wanting to gag. He was absolutely appalling. Doesn't anyone know how to talk to a girl anymore?

Something glinted from behind him as he reached his hand back to pull out a long curved dagger. The handle was wrapped in black with green thread crisscrossed from the hilt to the end of the handle. My grip loosened on my whip as I let the end of it fall to the ground. His grin only widened and his eyes shined like a kid in a candy store. He was really enjoying this. My gut told me that I needed to get out of here. That I needed Natsu, Gray, or Erza to help me defeat him, but I wanted to prove that I could still handle things on my own. I didn't want to be so reliant on the others anymore. They were always coming to my rescue. I stared into his eyes and bit my bottom lip hard. I felt my lip split as blood started to run down my mouth towards my chin. "My my, what a beautiful red color your blood is. I can't wait to coat my blade in it blondie."

I quickly raised my arm and flicked my wrist, the end of my Fleuve d'ètoiles hit across his cheek drawing blood easily. He gasped slightly in surprise. It was like these guys always suspected that the small petite person could never hold their own in a fight. Luckily, I could. Even if it was only for a short while. Drawing blood from his cheek must've made him really angry because now he was rushing directly at me with his dagger pointed directly to my chest. I only had a split second to make a decision about what my next move would be. My arm raised as he got about five feet away from me, my whip wrapping around his wrist tightly and I pulled as hard as I could. The muscles in my forearm burning, but he wasn't having it and used the momentum from my pull to rush at me faster.

I dropped onto my back as soon as he got right next to me. His gigantic foot hitting my side hard, causing me to let out a strangled scream, and he toppled over me, his face eating dirt. 'That's going to leave a big bruise.' I thought to myself. I struggled catching my breath as he slowly climbed to his feet. "You little...you're going to pay for that." He spit to the side and I saw a tooth fly out. I smiled inwardly to myself.

Still laying on my back his feet thumped directly towards me. I was still struggling to catch my breath, but if I didn't get up on my feet and move right now he was going to kill me. Just as I was about to roll over onto my side the entrance to the tent opened which caught me off guard.

"Lucy!" Natsu yelled just in time for me to turn my head to see the bandits long curved blade plunge into my chest. Another strangled scream escaping my throat which was sore from not talking.

Through teary eyes I watched as Natsu rushed towards the bandit, his fist on fire, punching him directly across the face and sending him flying. The tent being knocked over and going with the bandit as he crashed into the other tents. Natsu ran right to my side, slowly picking up my head. He was looking down at me saying something, but through the pounding of my own heartbeat in my ears I couldn't make out what he was saying. My eyes were getting heavy and I felt so tired that now all I wanted to do was go to sleep. Natsu was shaking his head back and forth to tell me no, but I couldn't help it. My eyes slowly began to close until all I could see was darkness.
