Chapter 3: The Job

Natsu's P.O.V

I had picked the perfect job! I was so ready to go and beat up these bandits that I couldn't contain my excitement. We were all going to be going on this job together. I was so ready for Lisanna and Lucy to get to know each other. I think they're going to be really great friends!

Happy flew over to me just as Grey walked over. "Oi! Flame-brain its time to go!"

I growled at him. "What'd you call me Popsicle?"

Grey and I pushed our foreheads together like two bulls locking heads. "You heard me Pyro!"

Erza walked up behind the two of us with her terrifying aura, "Do we have a problem boys?"

Grey and I immediately hug, shaking hands. "No ma'am!" We both yelled in unison. When she walked away I sighed a breath of relief.

I went to get Lisanna since it was time to head out on the mission. As always she was surrounded by people who were chatting up a storm with her. I sighed. Was the guild ever going to get used to having her back around. "Oi! Lisanna! time to go!"

She glanced up seeing me waving at her. "Be right there Natsu!" She weaved her way out of the crowd of people so that she could reach me. By the time she got to me she was panting out of breath.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "Still catching up with people?"

She nodded. "I swear, I'm stuck in a conversation with someone all the time. Hey, where's Lucy?"

I looked around the guild looking for her. She was over at the bar drinking her milkshake. "I'll go get her."

Lucy's P.O.V
I had just finished my milkshake whenever Natsu walked over to me. "Oi, Luce it's time to go."

I gave him a nod getting up from my chair. I gave Mira a wave goodbye. I hadn't said a word to hardly anyone in the past few days. It wasn't all that bad.

We walked out the guild doors heading to the train station. The job was in a couple towns over and it would take days for us to get there if we'd walked. I heard Natsu groan about getting on the train, but Ezra wasn't giving him a choice. We all got on. Ezra, Natsu, Grey, and Lisanna sat in one booth. I sat in the one adjacent to there's.

I didn't say anything to anyone as I sat down by myself. Natsu was already getting motion sickness and I could see Lisanna was rubbing his arm trying to comfort him. I sighed and turned my attention to outside the window.

Happy came over and sat next to me. "Lushee, you look lonely." I just shrugged. I didn't really mind it. I could hear Happy sniffle beside me as he went back to sit with the others.

Time flew by and before we knew it we were in the town for the job. As we walked to the clients house I walked at the back of the group. Natsu was chatting with Lisanna up front, Grey and Ezra behind them with her huge luggage behind her, and I walked alone in the back.

I looked down at my keys. I thought about summoning Plue so I wouldn't have to be alone, but I wanted to make sure that I had all my strength for this upcoming battle. I sighed to myself as we reached the clients house.

The client explained that the bandits had set up a camp on the cliff above the city. We should be able to find them there. Natsu yelled in excitement, "I'm fired up now!"

I just silently shook my head and smiled. He was always like this.
