Natsu's P.O.V

We had gotten to Luce and she looked so fragile that I was afraid she would break in my arms. Wendy had healed her as much as she could, but it wasn't as much as she had wanted to since she was a little low on magic energy after just healing Levy just a few hours before. I carried her as carefully as I could as we made our way down the hill. Erza was carrying Wendy on her back since she was exhausted from using so much of her magic. Gray was walking quietly next to me.

I subconsciously sniffed Luce's hair. The sweet smell of Vanilla and Strawberry's hitting my nose immediately. "At least we got to her in time. I'm sure she'll be up in just a few hours. I bet you're happy flame-brain." Gray looked at me while he spoke. I grunted slightly in response. I just wanted to get her home and let her know that I was not going to leave her side again. "Don't hold her too tightly or you will break her." I growled lowly at his second response. There was no way that I would do anything to hurt Luce.

Within the hour we got down the hill and our carriage was there waiting for us. I almost didn't want to get on it, but I knew that I didn't want to wait too long to get her back home.

Lucy's P.O.V

I slowly felt myself starting to wake up. It felt like every muscle in my body ached and it made me groan in pain. To my right I heard something quickly shift and my hand was wrapped in someone's. A deep gruff voice cleared itself beside the bed I was laying in. My eyes still felt too heavy to open.

"Luce..." I know that voice anywhere. That's my Natsu. He was here beside me waiting for me to open my eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I wasn't there to protect you like I promised I would." He cleared his throat again. I almost couldn't tell if he was crying or not. It almost made my heart break for him. "I don't know if you can hear me or not, but there's something I need to tell you. I don't know what's going on with me, but there's been this voice in my head saying things that I don't understand. I don't know who to talk to besides you. You always put things into a way I can understand. So can you please open your beautiful eyes for me." His breath caught slightly. I could feel my cheeks start to heat up.

I could hear him sigh as I heard the chair shift, assuming that he laid back in his seat, but he continued to hold my hand. I almost couldn't tell if I was dreaming or not. Slowly I drifted back off to sleep.
