Lucy's P.O.V
I awake in a small cell. A chain had been tightly fastened around my neck and my hands were bound behind my back. Without even needed to look I could tell that my keys were missing and I had absolutely no idea where I was since I was alone down here in the dark. Wherever I was it was musty in here and smelled of old clothes that had been laying around for years. I went to open my eyes, but once there were open a liquid was dripping down over my left eye. Blood.
I sighed. 'Just great. I don't know where I am and on top of that I'm bleeding. What else could possibly go wrong right now?' As if someone was able to read my thought the door to the cage room I was in opened. A man, or maybe just a boy, entered the room. He had fire red hair and fire red eyes. Taking a closer look at him he was dawned in all red actually. Like it was his favorite color. A sword was on his hip and he had swirling black marks on his face. I was surprised that I was able to pick up on all these features since it was so dark in this room.
"I told them to go easy on you. They damaged what's mine. They'll pay for that." His voice was smooth and deep. It sent chills up my spine whenever he spoke and it wasn't a good type of chill. He walked closer to me and took out a small white cloth from his pocket. Instinctively I tried to back away from him, but he just chuckled lightly at me. "I'm not going to hurt you dear. I wouldn't do anything to my mate. My dragon wouldn't allow me too even if I tried." He grinned at me. I bit my bottom lip as my back hit against the wall. I wasn't able to back any further away from him.
He crouched down in front of me and raised his hand to wipe the blood from my forehead. He hummed gently as he did so. "My name is Zatori. I'm a lava dragon slayer. Isn't that neat?" I didn't reply to him. I had just barely talked to Levy, there was no way I was going to talk to this complete stranger! "Don't worry my dear. You'll open up to me eventually and when you do I'll start letting you out of here. With the leash of course. Can't have my mate running away from me."
I growled and did what he probably expected me to do. I quickly spat into his face. He frowned at me and raised his hand and smacked me hard against the face. I whimpered in pain, but refused to let him fully hear my voice. "I expect better from you. My mate will not treat me with such disgrace. Ever since you saved me that day I've never wanted another woman like I've wanted you. I'll be back in a few hours to bring your dinner." With that he got up from his kneeling position in front of me and he exited the room.
I wanted to reach up and touch my face. It was stinging and I was sure that it was red from how hard he had smacked me. What was he talking about? Me being his mate? Me saving him? I didn't even recognize him. I racked my brain trying to remember if I had ever seen him before, but no matter how much I thought about it I couldn't pull the memory.
I sighed and leaned my head back against the wall. 'How long would I be stuck here? Surely Natsu had made it back to my apartment and noticed I was missing. Oh my god! Levy was with me! I hope she's ok.' I thought to myself. I closed my eyes. I was exhausted and could most likely use the sleep.
