3rd Person P.O.V

Natsu hadn't left Lucy's side since he had felt that overwhelming anxiety. He had noticed that Wendy had been in there everyday to check on Lucy to make sure things were healing like that should be. Five days had passed now since Natsu had brought her back to the guild to be seen by Wendy.

"She should be waking up anytime now Natsu. She's healed to pristine condition from what I can tell." Wendy said to him, but all she got in reply was a slight grunt from him.

No one had been able to get him to leave for three days now. Not for food, not for sleep, not even for a mission that he would usually be all over. Wendy looked at him with concern. She didn't know what was really happening. She had noticed that Laxus and Gajeel had been clinging on to Mira and to Levy and would growl anytime a male would get close to them. It had made Mira's job hard for her to do.

"Natsu? Don't you think you should go home and get some good rest. I can sit with her until you come back." Wendy's voice was soft and quiet. She didn't want to give any reason for him to snap.

Natsu sighed. He knew that Wendy was only trying to help. He knew that Wendy was only trying to help, but something inside him was roaring at him to yell at her to do better. That he needed her to be awake.

"I know Wendy, but I'm not leaving until she's awake. I have to be here." He said through gritted teeth. He sounded harsher than he meant to be.

Wendy nodded and excused herself from the room. Natsu sighed and sat down in the chair that was next to Lucy's bed. The light from the window right behind her bed was shining down cascading her features. Natsu leaned up and brushed her hair back from her face. He smiled slightly at her. "You're going to be ok Luce. I'm not going to let anything else happen to you ever again. I promise." He placed his hand on her cheek and looked down at her with concern. He needed her back.

He sighed and sat back down. He had been sitting here for the past three days talking to her softly wanting her to come back to him. "Lucy...you're going to have to get up sooner or later...I really need to talk to you about something. There's something going on and I don't understand it, but you're the only person that I want to talk to about it. So, please, wake up already." He had said this at almost a whisper. He didn't want anyone else to hear what he was saying.

Natsu's P.O.V

I leaned back in the chair after I finished brushing Lucy's hair out of her face. She had always been so well put together and she would probably throw an absolute fit if she could see how messy her hair was now that she had been laid up in a bed for days. It made me chuckle a bit thinking about how many times she had always been so concerned about the little things. It was one of the things that made me care about her so much.

You love her Natsu.

I quickly shot up and began looking around the room. "Who's there?!" I yelled.

The voice chuckled. I'm you. Your conscience. Your inner dragon. Whatever you wanna call me.

I rubbed my head. 'I must be losing my mind. I've never heard this voice before.' I thought.

You haven't heard me before because you've never been in this season Natsu. Think. Why are you being so possessive of Lucy.

I chuckled to myself and thought for a moment. 'First off I call her Luce. SO, if you're my conscience then you would know that. Second, I'm always protective of Luce. She's my friend."

The voice sighed. I didn't say protective Natsu, I said possessive. Didn't you notice how your other two buddy dragon slayers are acting around their girls. Laxus being so over protective of Mira and Gajeel being over protective of Levy. They aren't even letting other guys near them. Just like you won't let Gray or any other male around Luce.

I growled slightly at just the mention of that popsicle head. 'I don't know and I don't particularly care. I'm going to protect her no matter what. Anytime she needs me I'm going to be there. Even when she doesn't need me I'm going to be there. So, just drop it.'

After that I didn't hear from the voice anymore. It did get me to thinking though. I had noticed that Gajeel and Laxus had been pretty possessive over Levy and Mira, but I didn't think I was being as clingy as those two were being. I mean, I was in here because I didn't want Luce to wake up with no one here. I wanted to be by her side and I didn't want any other guy coming around to take that away from me. I didn't particularly want to leave her with any female either, but I didn't find them as threatening as another male could be.

"mmnnn." I heard a slight sound come from the bed. I perked up. Had that come from Luce?

"Luce? Are you waking up?" I watched her face intently. Her nose scrunched up a little bit and her eyelids squeezed shut tighter for a moment before they finally fluttered open. "L..Luce? H..how do you feel? Are you ok? Should I go get Wendy?" The sunlight was slowly fading and the sunset was cascading around her face.

She looked at me slightly confused. "L..Luce you can talk to me. Say something please.." My voice cracked a bit.

Lucy's P.O.V

I was laying here in this bed and looking at Natsu. He looked like he hadn't slept well in days. His eyes were a bit red and he looked a bit thin from how he usually was.

"Luce..say something to me please. What do you want me to do? Do you want me to go get Wendy?" He kept asking me. I didn't want to say anything yet. I wasn't ready so I just nodded. The slight smile he had on his face suddenly fell and he just nodded and went out of the room to go get Wendy.

I turned my head slightly to look around in the room. The last thing that I remember clearly was being at the bandit camp, but now here I was laying in the infirmary. What happened to me?
