Why do you make me feel this way

Asher:

I watch through the window as Dani walks away. His tail trails behind him, yet not touching the ground. It reminded me of Xander... how he walked away from me.

I quickly pulled the curtains shut. What have I done...? Poor Dani.

Why did I have to drag him into this? He was my friend after all.... Why am I such an idiot?

I shuffled back to my room to get dressed. As I was pulling  my shirt on I remembered that I had to go get Jeff and Koby. Sighing, I grab my phone and keys and head out the door, which I locked.

As I walked down the road I thought over all that had happened today. I was such a mess. I pull out my phone and texted Jeff.

Me: Hey, bus close?

Jeff: Almost there, you waiting?

Me: Yup.

I slid my phone back in my pocket before sitting on the curb. The bus pulled up almost instantly. I stand back up with a smile as the bus doors opened.

I wave at the bus driver as she takes off. "So, Jeff, Koby, it's just us tonight... what'd y'all wanna do?"

Koby pulled on my arm. "Brother, I wanna play game! Can we play game?"

I smile at her. "Of course we can." I turn to Jeff. "What about you?"

Jeff stroked his chin. "After we play a round of Koby's game, could you teach me a couple more chords on the guitar?"

I ruffle up his hair. "Sure. Oh, I heard you playing last night, you've gotten really good."

I take out the key as we approach the front door. I open the door to see Rose standing there... naked. I quickly shut the door before Jeff or Koby saw.

"Okay... so how about we run to the store to get some ice cream first?"

They both excitedly said yes, of course. "Okay then, let's get going."

We walked to and from the store under ten minutes.

Hopefully Rose was dressed by now. I opened the door again to see no sign of Rose. Letting the others in, I head to my room. Since there's no guestroom I have to share my room with Rose.

I slowly make my way over to the corner she was curled up in. I crouch down next to her and wrap my arms around her in comfort. "Oh, the poor baby. What's the matters?" I ask in a quiet baby voice.

She lets out a laugh. "I... I know where my sister is now." She said with a shaky voice. "Sh-she's dead!" She practically screamed before bursting into tears.

I sit back and pull her close to me. As she sobs against my chest I rub her back. I see Jeff and Koby in the doorway from the corner of my eye. I wave for them to leave and they did so, shutting the door as they left.

I sit in the dark with Rose against me until she crys herself to sleep. Looking at her like this made me feel so helpless. Her sister was the only real family she had left... and now she's dead. I can't even begin to comprehend what Rose is feeling right now.

How could this kind, energetic little Fox have such a terrible life and still keep a smile? She is so much stronger than I am... how does she do it?

So... yeah... I'll be write a spin-off story for Rose if you want to learn more about her. If not, that's okay too. Anyway, so I'm going to do another chapter or two from Asher's POV before you finally get to hear Xander's side of all this. :b I'm so evil sometimes.
