Xander:

"I spy... something green!" Koby exclaimed.

Asher sturred a little in his sleep at the sudden noise. "Tree." I sigh.

She turns around in her seat and looks at me with amazement. "Woah, you got it right! You so smart Mr lion!"

I smile at her. "Its Xander, and I knew it was tree because I can read your mind." At least I wish I could, I'm stuck with stupid elemental control.

Her eyes widen. "Really?"

I laugh a little. "No, I'm just kidding around with you. I have elemental control, how bout you, Koby?"

"I no have it yet." She pouts. "Momma said that me family get theirs when, after ten."

Her words are a little out of order, but it's so adorable. "Oh, well I hope you get something you will like."

She smiles. "I sure I will!"

"Koby please sit in your seat correctly." Asher's mom called back without even turning around.

"Yes ma'am." Koby turns back around and sits down.

Then everything went silent again. It was boring to stay awake any longer, and given the fact that Asher already fell asleep, I decided to take a little cat nap.

I woke up to an empty car with woods all around me. I quickly unbuckle and stumble to get out of the van.

It's starting to get a little dark and I start to worry. I look around and see a log cabin. It was a descent size, smaller than a normal house but way bigger than a shack. I look around one more time before walking up to the door.

I heard some muffled voices, so I lean against the door to try and hear better. I could just make out Ash's voice. "... I'll go get him!"

The door opened abruptly and Asher plowed into me. When I fell I somehow managed to keep my head from hitting the wood.

Ash sat up and looked at me with his cute little puppy eyes. "Ah, I'm so sorry Xander! I didn't know you were awake!"

I laughed at him. "Your so cute when you're confused. And thanks a lot for leavening me alone, in a van, in the woods."

He laughed nervously. "Well, heh, we were just unpacking, and you looked so peaceful."

I got to my feet and helped Ash up. "You could've woke me up."

He scratches the back of his head. "Yeah, sorry about that. So do you want to see the cabin we're staying in?"

I nod my head. Ash takes my hand and pulls me along a path through the woods.

We came upon another log cabin that looked a lot like the previous one. Same size, just a little different on the design.

Asher let go of my hand and hopped up the stairs. He took out a key and unlocks the door. He motions with his hand for me to come over. "Come on, don't wanna look around?"

I reluctantly follow Ash as he walks into the cabin. I walk into a spacious living room with a couch directly to my right and another against the wall opposite of the couch. With a desk against the right wall. I look to my left and see a small kitchen area with another door next to the fridge.

Ash grabs both of my hands and pulls me in for a kiss. "Here, come see our room, there's only one bed so we'll have to share."

Bad thought, bad thought. "That's okay with me."

Ash pulled me into the room. There was a queen size bed to the right and a small walk in closet to the left.

Ash gets up on his tiptoes and kisses me. "We get this cabin all to ourselves, because Uncle Jerry and his family had to stay home for Lindsay's treatment."

Treatment? "Is she sick or something?"

Ash nodded his head. "Yeah, it was pretty bad too, she caught parvo."

"What's that?"

Ash pulls his ears back and looks away. "Its a very deadly disease to younger dogs."

I stroke his head. "Oh, well I hope she gets better."

Ash hugs me and starts to cry. "She'll get better, I know she will... won't she?"

I hug him back. "Of course she'll get better. Here, let's think about something else, oh I know, who else is going to come here anyway?"

Ash stops crying. "Well... *sniff*... Aunt Carla is going to be here. She's bringing Lucky, and Sally. Then there's cousin Rob with his wife Marry and their kid Abigail." He starts to lighten up again. "Oh! And there's also Gramma Dasiy and Grandpa Victor and they always come with Tamera, Grey, Maddy, and Markus. Oh, but if they come then Billy is sure to come with whoever he's with now. And..."

Asher rambles off, making a list of who all is coming. I just let go of him and plop down on the bed. I cover my ears with my hands to no avail, so I whacked him in the mouth with my tail. "Okay, Ash, I get it, there's going to be a lot of wolves."

He tilts his head to the side. "Wolves? Only half the names I listed were wolves."

That's a little shocking. "Really? Only half?"

Ash nods his head. "Of course, an entire family of wolves is a really rare sight."

"I guess so."

"Oh, we still need to go get our bags. Come on Xander."

I get up and follow Asher back through the forest path to the van to get our bags. As Asher is opening to back, Koby runs up to me and jumps into my arms. A little startled, I managed to catch her tail and she yelped. "Sorry!" I let go of her tail and get a better hold on her. "What is it Koby?"

She smiled. "Mr lion and big brother have to share a cabin. Koby share cabin with mommy and daddy. Jeff go with cousin Lucky and cousin Grey and cousin Markus. This week be fun, won't it Ander?"

I smile at her misperception of my name. "Yes, I do think it'll be fun. How bout this Koby, I'll let you call me something no one else can."

Her eyes widen. "Really? I gets to call you something no one else can?"

I tap her nose. "Of course, can you say Alex?"

"Aleex."

"There, you can call me Alex. Sound good?"

She wraps her arms around my neck. "Yay I get to call you Aleex and no one else can!" She hugs me tightly.

I make a choking sound. "Koby, I can't breathe you're so strong."

He laughs and squeezes harder before letting go. "Silly Alex, I not that strong." I set her down on the ground and she runs back inside.

I turn around to see Ash looking at me with a hand over his mouth. I could tell he was trying his hardest not to laugh. I push past him and get my bag out the back of the van. I heard Ash start to laugh and I whacked him with my tail.

Asher grabbed my tail. Heh, he thinks he got me. I swish my tail back and forth and hit his face. He sneezes and let's go of my tail.

I take my bag out and head to our cabin with Asher trailing behind.

We put our bags in the closet in our cabin, then head back over to the other cabin for dinner.

A cabin to themselves. >~< What could the two lovers possibly do alone, together?
