Asher:

"Asher, I can't be with you anymore." His words stabbed me through the heart.

"W-why?" Was all I could say.

He looked away. "I can't be with a... dog." He spat out the last word with disgust.

I took a step back. "Wha-what are you talking about? You're joking right?" I reach for him. "You're just joking. Come on, its not funny anymore."

He slapped away my hand. "I'm not joking! I never want to see you again. Goodbye... Asher."

I fell to the floor, dazed. I watched helplessly as Alexander walked away from me. His tail was dragging on the ground. I felt my eyes begin to water as his tail disappeared behind the cafeteria doors.

"Asher Deev-it?" The teacher called out. "Asher Deevit, is he here today?"

I shake my head. "Yes sir, I'm here. But my last name is pronounced Devite."

He nodded his head. "Ah, yes. Sorry for that."

I fake a smile before retreating back into my mind. I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong.... I just don't know....

Maybe he was joking, but he said it wasn't a joke. What am I supposed to think? It was just so out of the blue. I mean I knew something had to be wrong when he stopped calling and texting me, but I never thought it was this bad.

What did I do?

Im pulled out of my trance by someone shaking my shoulder. I look over to see that it was Duke. He had a very concerned expression. "Ash, I'm sorry. I'm so stupid sometimes. I didn't think it would've ever turned out like this."

I look at him in confusion. "What are you talking about, Duke?"

He avoided eye contact. "Oh, you don't know yet."

"Know what?"

"Why Xander did what he did."

I grabbed the collor of his shirt. "Are you saying you're the reason for all of this?!"

He looked a little scared as he grabbed my hand with his own and held out the other. "It was a miscommunication, I swear! I didn't mean to!"

I pulled back my fist to hit him. "C-come on Asher. N-no need t-to get violent n-now." Duke pleaded.

Someone jumped on me before I could hit him. "Let me go! Just let me hit the bastard!"

I was pinned down by Dani. "No Asher, just calm down!"

I glared at Duke as he was escorted out of the classroom. Dani slowly let me up as two police officers entered the classroom. They each grabbed one of my arms as they walked me out of the classroom as well.

Duke was being taken the other way. I struggled to get out of their grips, but to no avail. "You fucking bastard! How dare you! You piece of shit, mouse!"

Duke was soon out of my sight and I was on my way to the front office.

What a wonderful ending to an even more wonderful day.
