“Where are we being taken? They said we were under arrest, but that wasn’t what being arrested is like. That was needlessly dramatic.” Ella piped up from her spot next to the Doctor, in the back of a police car, Rose was in the front passenger.

“How do you know what it’s like being arrested?” Rose wondered as she stared out of the window.

“I may have been slightly arrested a couple times in Belvedere.” Ella emphasized ‘slightly.’

“How do you get slightly arrested?” The Doctor spoke up as he turned and stared at her waiting for an answer.

“You didn’t tell me where we’re being taken,” Ella reminded.

“Downing Street, we’re not being arrested. We’re being escorted.”

“So, they’re bringing you in because you’re the Doctor?” He nodded in agreement as Ella and Rose excitedly looked out of the windows and saw the car pulling up to the posh building that housed the Prime Minister.

The three were escorted in and dumped into a room full of people they’ve been seeing on tv, experts in alien knowledge and the Doctor was the biggest expert of them all.

“Ladies and gentlemen, can we convene?” A beautiful man projected into the room, beginning to gather the experts for the meeting they were called for. “Quick as we can, please. It's this way on the right, and can I remind you ID cards are to be worn at all times.” The man walked over to the three who have just arrived and handed the white card in his hand to the Doctor, “Here's your ID card. I'm sorry, your companions don’t have clearance.” Ella didn’t mind as sitting in a meeting with people smarter than her sounded like a drag.

“I don’t go anywhere without her.”

“You’re the Code Nine, not her. I’m sorry, Doctor. It’s, uh, Doctor, isn’t it? She’ll have to stay outside.” As the man was talking a mousy-haired woman hesitantly approached the group.

“It’s okay, Doc. You go.” Ella reassured him, he reluctantly nodded and turned into the wide hallway, making his way to the end where there was a flight of stairs as the gathering was on one of the top floors.

The girls were about to be left with security, but the woman from earlier joined them and asked them to walk with her, they were about to leave. Ella hung back for a second, way too tempted to ask the man for his name, “you still can’t get in that meeting, miss.”
