The three were led down a long hallway and up many floors in an elevator, they were soon corralled into a room holding a few men, one of them seemed to oversee everyone. The one in charge had a painting hung up on the wall that looked like it was supposed to be of himself. A younger man with an English accent held a metal device out to him, saying he paid eight hundred thousand dollars for it at auction. The Doctor pointed out that the metal palm sized device was a musical instrument, after he played a few notes, the man took it back and after a few tries played something that sounded like what the Doctor had produced earlier. When he was no longer interested in the instrument, he tossed it aside, literally tossed it across the room.

“Who exactly are you?”

“I’m the Doctor and who are you?”

“Like you don’t know. We’re hidden away with the most valuable collection of extraterrestrial artifacts in the world and you just … stumbled in by mistake.”

“That pretty much sums me up, yeah.”

“The question is, how did you get in? fifty-three floors down with your little cat burglar accomplices.” He glanced at the girls and the Doctor didn’t like how his eyes lingered on Ella, “you’re quite a collector yourself, they’re rather pretty.”

Rose had enough of the way he was talking about her and her best friend, “I’m gonna smack him.” She moved forward and Ella grabbed her wrist.

“Not in front of the Doctor, he doesn’t like it when you hit people.” She whispered to the blonde.

“Oh, English and French! Hey, little Lord Fauntleroy. Got you a girlfriend to choose from.” He continued to stare at Ella, and she shuffled closer to the Doctor, the man noticed the subtle movement. “You’re that Bad Wolf girl,” he simply stated. Ella understood immediately.

“Unfortunately,” Rose gave her a confused look. Ella shrugged in response, “famous mom. Can’t escape it.” Ella hadn’t noticed the surprised look the Doctor gave her after hearing the maiden name of her mother, those words were everywhere. He thought with a troubled expression, what could it mean? Is it a message? Who is it for? Me or Ella.

“This is Mr Henry Van Statten.” The English kid cut into the Doctor’s thoughts with an introduction of the man he worked for. “He owns the internet.”

“Don’t be stupid. No one owns the internet.” Rose shook her head in denial.

“And lets just keep the whole world thinking that way, right kids?” Ella wanted to punch the smirk off his face. The Doctor and Van Statten got into a testosterone battle, trying to assert dominance over each other. Rose suspects that it had to do with the way the other man was looking at Ella. They might not notice it yet but there was something between the brunette and the alien Doctor they traveled with.

After the Doctor and Van Statten departed to the Cage, where Van Statten claims to have a living specimen. The girls were left with the English kid and Ella could not roll her eyes enough over the obvious flirting between Rose and the kid, who provided his name as Adam Mitchell. Her wandering mind landed on the Doctor and she hoped he wouldn’t get himself into trouble, but she was doubtful since he was very prone to trouble. Meanwhile, over in the Cage the Doctor came face to face with trouble, he was staring in horror at the thing that haunted his dreams and his every waking moment. He was hearing the voice of the metal monster that would forever be imprinted in his memory, his memory that was full of screams and destruction, a planet burning.
