Ella's eyes shot open and there was a dead man and woman trying to strangle her, she wisely panicked and quickly moved out of the way as she tried to recall where she was.

Cardiff, 1869. Ah, great. The one time I agree to go to the past and I get kidnapped.

Ella started to bang on the only door in the dim room as it was locked.

"Let me out of here!" She shouted as she was pulled back by her hair and grabbed once again around the neck. She was preoccupied with trying to free herself from the dead man's grip that she didn't notice the door being kicked in by an angry Doctor.

"I think this is my dance." He pulled Ella away from the dead man while she gulped in a breath and coughed, he held her by the waist as air got back into her system. "Hi." The Doctor smiled at her.

"Hello." Ella smiled back, glad that he found her in time; she could have gotten herself out of that situation, but she was still feeling the effects of the drug that was used to knock her out earlier. "Who's your friend?"

She looked over at the older man that showed up with the Doctor, she saw the older man earlier but was kidnapped before she found out who he is.

"Charles Dickens," the Doctor casually answered before he entered the room where the dead people were grumbling and stumbling about.

"Hi, I'm Ella," it took a second for the Doctor's words to sink in. "Wait, THE Charles Dickens?! I leave you alone for five minutes and you manage to make friends with one of the greatest authors of this era?"

"I thank you for your kind words, my lady." Charles slightly bowed to her as the Doctor began talking to the dead people.

"I didn't know you speak French." Ella's voice was a bit scratchy from the attack, but she also knew from experience that the fire in her throat will subside soon.

"I cannot, I just ... understand it." Ella nodded to his explanation as the dead people screeched and blue wisps floated out of their mouths and into the gas lamps.

The Doctor, Ella and Charles went into a sitting room because now that there are blue wisps possessing dead people Ella had to play nice with the people who tried to kill her.

The room they were standing in was not terribly small, there was a couple of chairs scattered throughout and a fireplace in the center of one of the walls.

"First of all, you drug me. Then, you kidnap me! And don't think I didn't feel your wandering hands you dirty old man! And then you drop me in a room full of zombies and leave me to die!" Ella wasn't about to go along with playing nice without speaking her mind first.

"I will not be spoken to like this!" Gabriel Sneed, the old man that runs this mortuary defended himself and Ella rolled her eyes.

"And I will not be treated like this!" Ella had her hands on her hips as she towered over the old man. "So, come on! Talk." Ella missed the smile gracing the Doctor's face as she shouted.
