The séance was uneventful, the Gelth, as they called themselves had lost their planet in the war that haunted the Doctor's dreams. Gwyneth was understandably exhausted after that whole ordeal but hearing that she could help the Gelth suddenly filled her with renewed energy. And that's how Ella ended up standing in the basement of the mortuary, looking for the weakest spot in the rift.

The few remaining Gelth were going to enter their world and inhabit the recently dead. Ella didn't know if she agreed with this method yet, but she swallowed her concerns. The blue apparition that spoke to them during the séance was floating under a stone arch.

Once it was determined that was where the weakest spot was, Gwyneth stood under the arch near the wall on the right side of the stairs. The bridge was open, and Ella was hit with the feeling of something horrible about to happen, like a calm before the storm.

Gwyneth's mouth opened, a bright light emitted from it and myriad blue wisps poured out; Ella approached the servant girl, hoping to get her to stop now.

"Something's wrong," Ella whispered but no one listened to her as the blue apparition floating above Gwyneth's head turned flame red and grew sharp teeth.

"The Gelth will come through in force." The once sweet apparition growled, Ella should have flinched back at the tone, but she was more concerned with Gwyneth right now.

"You said you were few in number!" Charles accused as the blue wisps flew into the dead bodies occupying the morgue.

"A few billion and all of us in need of corpses." The red apparition growled as the dead people in the room sat up and moved the white sheets covering their bodies. The Doctor pulled Ella back by her waist, she stumbled a bit, not used to the heeled boots she had to wear.

"That's very not good," Ella mumbled as Gabriel tried to get Gwyneth to stop dabbling. A corpse walked up behind him and snapped his neck before Ella could warn him and a blue wisp zoomed into his mouth.

"I think it's gone a little bit wrong," the Doctor muttered lamely, still holding onto Ella.

"No shit."

"I have joined the legions of the Gelth. Come, march with us." Gabriel's body sneered at them; he had the signature white eyes of someone possessed by the creatures.

Charles began muttering about how the Doctor's and Ella's world was too much for him and he ran, leaving the time travelers to back into a metal gate. The Doctor opened the gate and pulled Ella in with him, they had their backs against the stone wall where the corpses couldn't reach them.

It was like something out of a zombie movie.

The Gelth were planning to convert everyone, whether they were living or dead. Ella squeezed the necklace holding her Tardis key that the Doctor gave her a few weeks ago. She interlaced her hand with his and hesitantly glanced over at him, instantly reading his eyes.
