Ella woke up that next morning to the steady beating of the Doctor’s hearts with a smile on her face as she recalled last night’s events, “so, what changed your mind,” the Doctor briefly wondered what she meant by that. Soon it occurred to him that she understood his hesitance and running away last night, and he must have surprised her by coming back. Ella shifted so she was fully on top of the Doctor and left her head where it was on his chest, the sounds of his hearts almost soothing her back to sleep.

“I don’t know, maybe deep down I didn’t want to spend to rest of my long life wondering if what we have was real or if it was curiosity,” he softly rubbed her bare back.

“And what did you come up with?” Ella pulled her head up and looked at him, he stifled a laugh at the state of her hair.

“Well, I don’t think it’s just curiosity,” the Doctor whispered as he gently swept his thumb across her cheekbone, a look crossed her face then. The Doctor lost his slight smile as she sat up and climbed on top of him again, he’s seen that look many times last night. He met her in a kiss and the two lost themselves in each other, only pulling away when Ella’s stomach decided to remind them of her humanness. She groaned and left the bed, pulling on an oversized shirt and the first pair of pajama pants she found. The Doctor followed after her to the kitchen when he found his own clothes, she went to the fridge to start on breakfast, and he made the coffee the way he knew that she liked.

A bit later, Rose unlocked the Tardis doors with her key, the control room was empty, and she found Ella and the Doctor at the kitchen table. They looked very much like the epitome of people who had a good night together. The blonde plastered a smile on her face as she made her way to the cupboard and grabbed herself some coffee, “so …” Rose started and the two turned towards her waiting for her, “we all just have bedhead then?” Ella laughed boisterously and the Doctor sputtered and almost choked. When he was done, he quickly got up and left mumbling something about stabilizers, Rose turned towards Ella and Ella gave her a dead pan look.

“Okay, yeah. It finally happened,” Ella voiced quietly, and at the look Rose gave her Ella’s face broke into an ecstatic grin. Rose then prodded for more information, “well, I’m not gonna give you a play by play.” Rose made a face at the thought; she grabbed a plate and piled it up with some of the pancakes she assumed Ella made before she arrived. Rose sat down at the table and began cutting into her pancakes while her coffee cooled off a bit.

“No, thank you I don’t think I need to hear that but was it good was it awful?” Rose asked into her cup as she took a slow drink, the blonde wasn’t sure when they were going to be dragged into their next thing. She wanted to take this chance because she was weirdly invested in this relationship, and she needed the distraction.

“It was actually great considering this was his first time with a human, I guess on his planet they abolished this kind of stuff because they developed a way to make new Time Lords with a machine. I think the one way he differs from anyone else I have slept with is the telepathy.”

“Wait, how do you mean?”

“Well, you know how his people are touch telepaths, right?” Rose nodded, “so, there was a lot of touching and a lot of thinking, and we were kind of in each other’s heads which changed the whole experience for me.”

“And that’s good right?”

“Oh yeah definitely. Now, enough about me, what about you and Mickey? You broke up the last time we were in town and yesterday he had his arm around you, and you spent the night together.” And the distraction was over, Rose thought with a wince.
