"Where are we," Rose wondered when she stepped out of the Tardis first, having beat Ella and Adam to the doors. Adam had been with them for a few days now. It took a couple of hours for Rose to explain what she could to the excitable young man and by that time Ella and the Doctor slinked back into the control room, he finally managed to bring Ella out of her head.

"Well, if you would move, we can figure that out." Ella laughed as Rose moved out of the way and looked at her, mouth agape at the orange trees in front of her. They seem to have landed on the edge of a forest as a growing city could barely be seen through the leaves in the light of the darkening sky.

Ella and the Doctor piled out of the time machine followed by Rose's new boy toy, the Doctor picked up some dirt and tasted it. "We must be on Pollyanna 3 ... no, wait ... 5. Pollyanna 5. 3's the one that smells like rubbish." The Doctor continued chewing on the dirt and picked up on an interesting fact. "This is the one with the biggest rollercoaster in the galaxy, look past the trees you can probably see it still."

"That's a rollercoaster? I thought it was a city!" Adam exclaimed as he and Rose rushed out of the treeline and gawked.

"Why are we here, Doc? What happened, it was the middle of movie night." Ella wasn't annoyed, just mildly inconvenienced because a thing was happening. Plus, she was just getting into the movie when the Doctor suddenly burst up from the couch and got popcorn everywhere before he left for the control room. The girls and Adam trailed along in confusion and brushing popcorn off their clothes, now they were here.

"Distress call," was all he answered with as he pulled out the metal device that he was working on during the movie and started walking with determination in the general direction of the monumental rollercoaster. The girls looked at each other and shrugged before following him, the three had to run a bit to keep up with the Doctor's longer strides.

"So, we answer distress calls? That's our thing," Rose wondered as she was beginning to pick up a pattern, she jumped over street debris and landed with more grace than Ella did, which makes sense with the blonde's gymnastic experience.

"Yes, we show who we really are based on how we respond when the universe asks for help." Ella repeated the words that she's heard many times before, after an hour or so the device that the Doctor made sparked and spit out some black smoke he groaned and tore it open. He handed the sonic screwdriver to Ella and she quickly found the proper setting and turned it into a flashlight as it had gotten significantly darker since they started walking. He started removing various things and reconnecting wires while Ella struggled to walk and hold the sonic screwdriver to provide light all without falling on the uneven pavement. Rose and Adam were walking in front of them with their own flashlights, the blonde noticed how late it was starting to get.

"If this is the biggest rollercoaster in the galaxy ... where are the people?" Adam's accented voice echoed off the walls of the sparse buildings that crept closer the more they walked.

"Off-season?" Ella offered with a hint of hopefulness, but it was quickly crushed when she remembered the distress call. Random facts started to connect in her mind, just things she picked up since they got here. Ella took note of the complete and utter silence surrounding her and the dilapidated vibe the whole place gave off.

"Right, that should do it. Oh, we need to go this way." The Doctor shouted out in excitement over having fixed the navigator. He made a sharp right and continued walking in the direction where the call came from. "Now, about a hundred signals went out across the planet but there's a greater concentration in this region. Presumably because of the massive attraction."
